Sunday paper cheap on Monday?

We don't get the paper (partly because it would probably be stolen off our doorstep with everything else ) but I LOVE to cut coupons.

I don't want to pay full price for the Sunday paper as I really only use it for the coupons. I am trying to find ways to cut my food budget even further.

What places can you buy the paper the next day for discount? I thought I remember seeing it at 7-Eleven once... or Walgreens or something. Anyone know?

Our local Dollar General Store sells the sunday paper for $1.50 the rest of the week until they are gone. That's $1 off the sunday price. If you've got one of these stores you might want to check it out.

Sunday paper cheap

You might want to try Wal-Mart. Where I live the Sunday paper is $1.50. I go to Wal-Mart on Sunday because I can get the paper for $.99. Hope this helps.

Here in Bpt the person who delivers to the stores takes the old papers back to the distribution center for recycling the next day.
Our paper does have mail delivery so maybe you can ask about that and your paper won't get stolen. Or maybe ask if you can only buy the circulars.
I know when my son delivered the paper he always had extra circulars. Maybe you can meet the delivery person and ask if you can just buy the sunday circulars from him.

Sometimes Giant sells them cheaper and used to do bundles of the previous 2 Sundays. Not sure if they still do or not but worth checking.

Here in Severn, MD there is a 7-11 that sells Washinton Post newspapers as a package. For $2 you get 2 newspapers with all the circulars. They also put all the circulars in an orange sealed package. That way no one can take the coupons out without you knowing.

I've never seen them cheaper here either.

Our Dollar Tree has them on Sundays and Mondays (maybe longer, I'm not sure) for a $1.

It might depend on your paper on what they do with them. I used to work in a drugstore and one of the nightly closing duties was buddling up the unsold newspapers for return the next day. I am not sure really how it worked but either the store wasn't charged or recieved credit for the unsold newspapers.

Have you checked with your library? My library puts the entire paper, including coupons, in a bin and anyone can go in and take what ever coupons they want.

I'd think buying circulars from the delivery person was dishonest...very different from getting them from a recycle bin or something-
around here the Sunday paper costs 1.50- but for home delivery of Thursday(store ads) and Sunday it's only .63 a week......

Thanks for all the replies! I think it might have been Dollar Tree that I saw it at about a year ago. We don't have a Dollar General very close (the closest is in a bad area of the city) and no Giants near here.

I haven't ever seen a paper delivery person in our area and I work either days or nights most weekends so approaching a delivery person isn't an option.

I'm at work until 8pm so I'll try to have DBF stop at Dollar Tree or I'll try them tomorrow to see if they have any leftover.
