Day ii: Pre-Disney Disney at Vero Beach! (continued)

Day ii: Pre-Disney Disney at Vero Beach! (continued)

The boardwalk which you take to get to the beach…in this case we were taking it back to the pool & the lobby

Playing mini golf by the pool…the mini golf was really cute with those alligators, and later on there was a sea monster and a treasure chest…

“We are soo fabulous!”

These pretty windows looking out towards the beach were in one of the rooms off the lobby…the rooms outside the lobby were really pretty…first there was a “community room” (I think all DVC resorts have these) where there was a computer you could use (for a fee) and games, etc. Then there was a little room with a table and chairs, and on the table was a sign saying “the hand masseuse will be right with you. I sat down, but nobody came…

The girls sitting in some rocking chairs in the lobby itself…it had this great big sort-of beachy chandelier (only Disney could make a chandelier beachy)

This photo is very blurry, but gives you a better idea of the lobby.

The path leading back up to our “vacation villa.” Look at all the palm trees!

Later on, the whole family went back out to take a look around in the sunset.

I LOVE palm trees…so much…

We found this cute sign pointing to ALL the other Disney Vacation Club Resorts. We were only about 100 miles from Disney World!

We also walked over to the campfire area. They weren’t having any activities there that night, but it was fun to look.

A view of the sunset from our room.

We were tired from our day on the beach, so we had to get to bed quickly. Because tomorrow, we were arriving at DISNEY WORLD!

Next Up: Morning at Vero...p.7 post 96

Vero Beach looks really nice and you are so lucky to have stayed there.

That is really neat that you got to see a sea turtles nest and that you got to talk to some conservationists!

Can't wait for you to get to Disney!

Vero Beach is so nice. Hmm... I am always seeing DVC points for sale there... Nope, bank account says not yet

I love the AG pictures. I'm probably too old to get one for myself, but I would really love to have one. Maybe one day I will have a daughter so I can get a few of the dolls. My goddaughter lives too far away, so if I got her one, I wouldn't be able to play with it.

OT: On Discover Health (I think?) last night... John and Kate plus 8 took their two oldest girls to NYC so they could visit the AG store/theatre/etc. I thought of you and your girls!

Great update! I've always wanted to stay there! Thanks for sharing your fabulous photos! As a golfer, I want to stay at Disney's Hilton Head Resort first though!

Hey Emma,

I am loving this report so far...will have to go and check out your previous one.My family also drives to Florida when we go on our Disney trips. We drive straight through from Pa.,and we love it.It is helpful coming home that way too as well, as it gives us a little more time to adjust to the real world when the trip is over as it always seems longer coming home then We are usually just so thankful to be home after such a long road trip. It does make the end of vacation and coming back home a little easier on us I think..at least for the first few hours , anyway. It is easier to do this now that our daughters are both older, and saves us alot of money for better things. My family likes to spend as much time of our vacation as possible in Disney World (we too are very snobbish and don't go to Universal)...but I have to admit you do have me thinking how nice it would be to take a side trip and spend a day or two at Vero Beach.I may look into it!

I see you are about to head off to college. I wish you all the best of luck and I hope you enjoy this time in your life. My oldest daughter will be starting her junior year already..it really does go fast. Thanks for your trip report!

Hi Emma,

I just finished reading your first trip report and you are gifted and talented writer. I feel like I'm there with you and your family.

The picture of the sunset is beautiful. Can't wait to hear more!!!!

And I totally understand about not wanting to give up the straight hair. I have naturally frizzy, ur, curly hair and it takes me about 20-25minutes to dry it and flat iron it. WHEW!!!! It will have to be something good for me to give it up, too. Walt DisneyWorld will do it.

Again, can't wait to hear more.
