Hi Sooze, I finally made it back here. I've been busy packing the house to move. Talk about hurry up & wait. I hope I don't have to unpack my winter clothes before we move. We are hoping to go back to the World at Christmastime. Your room & view are spectacular. Sure glad your migraine was managed.

Day #1 9/1 A Lazy Afternoon
So the boys were off and running. I decided to stay in our room to get the luggage unpacked and get everything organized. I also was hoping to get our groceries delivered so I could put away those things as well. Shaelyn spend a lot of time milling around the villa and particularly enjoyed opening and closing all of the doors! She liked how the bathrooms were connected and spent almost an hour just exploring!
My exploring helped me take the time to notice the details.. for example, check out the lamp on the end table by the couch:  Notice the details?  I just love Disney! These details are what it's all about for DH and me when it comes to Disney... high expectations in every aspect of the parks and resorts!! Okay.. so now the story turns annoying! Annoying in two ways: #1 I need to get Shae to lay down for a nap. It is nearing 2:00 and the girl has been up since 6:30. Parents of toddlers, you know how that can be! The bad part was, she was NOT cranky at all! But I knew if I let her go, she'd be a mess tonight! And we had to go to Illuminations on opening night.. it's tradition! So I set up her pack n play and notice it fits nicely in the walk in closet. Does that sound awful? But it's not! The bathroom fan provided excellent "white noise" and she wasn't in the middle of the hub bub of the villa. Well, I laid her down and she let me know immediately that she was having NONE of this!  At home, we always let her cry it out.. it usually doesn't last longer than 10-15 minutes before she realizes she actually IS tired and, hey, a nap might feel good. But at a hotel, I'm always weary of the neighbors. So I tell myself, "Self... it is 2 in the afternoon, most folks are at the parks... just let her go.." So I did. It was a full 15 minutes of pee'ed off SCREAMING from the little red-headed angel!! But then.... ahhhhhh.... peace and quiet!! Annoyance, done.#2 Now comes the grocery part... Delivery between 1-3, right?! I confirmed just two days ago... I KNOW they have my order. So at 3:15, when no groceries have arrived, I start to panic. I was an idiot and did not bring the phone number for the customer service line at grocer.com. NOTE TO SELF: Next time you order groceries, bring the phone number in case they don't show up! I decided to call down to bell services, and as soon as I mention grocer.com, the CM on the other end gives a sigh as if to say, "Oh no.. not one of THESE again!!" I can tell grocer.com is not a favorite with this bell service CM!! He said he'd check and see if the groceries happened to be delivered to bell services instead of to my ROOM, where they were SUPPOSED to be delivered! Alas.... about 25 minutes later, bell services showed up with my groceries!  With our annoyances solved, I took the quiet time to finish unloading groceries, suitcases, toiletry bags, etc. I also took a moment to figure out the couch/sleeper. That was fun! Finally, Shae awoke about 4 o'clock. I decided it was time to finally get out and explore! We took the umbrella stroller and ventured down to the Boardwalk. She really enjoyed looking around the gift shop so I took advantage of her good mood and took some pics. Don't let the face fool you, she really was happy! She just doesn't understand the concept of "smile for the camera" yet!     And here are some shots up and down the boardwalk. It's amazing how quiet, calm, and empty it is during the day, then how it just comes to life in the evening!   We stopped back in the lobby to grab a MYW ticket for myself. I thought this was BEAUTIFUL. I've seen pictures of it on the DIS before, but it's even more impressive in person!  Here's the carousel in the lobby.. sorry about the bad reflection!  We also ventured past the "workout" room:  LOVE the "vim, vigor, vitality"! That's classic! I just don't get how people work out when they're on vacation. Different mindset, I guess.. but every time we walked past this place, there were bunches of people in there, sweating, huffing, puffing... not my idea of fun! But I guess it is to someone! Finally, we decided to make our way to Epcot to meet up with the boys for dinner! I need to go.. time for a marching band show!! It's actually going to be a cold, fall evening here in IN! Gotta go pick a Disney sweatshirt to wear! Next episode... our opening ceremonies at Epcot..

I agree with Lesley- those room pics make me want to join DVC or at least stay on one of those rooms! I have the same toddler face in many photos too! Can't wait to hear more!

HI! Shae looks adorable in all the hats.
I have put baby beds in closets lots of times and it can be the perfect place!  I have never been to the Boardwalk so I really enjoyed the pictures.

Hi. What wonderful pictures of your daughter. I loved the white mouse ears with the sparkely things sewn on them. although she'd have to grow into them.
Glad she went down for a nap. I remember those days of trying to pretend that everything was normal & if you could just take a nap life would be so good. Time does fly though. I'm the one who would benefit from a nap these days.  Love the pictures of the boardwalk!! Take care. ps-we are excited about moving. Can't wait really. Just have to pack our everyday stuff & we're all set.

Great update, I love the Boardwalk, Maybe we will get there someday, we always eat there, but never stayed. Glad she took a nap for you. Cant wait for the rest of the report.

OOOPS, sorry I renamed you Lesley!
 I loved the recent installment. My 17 month old son would never stand for the hat pictures. He loathes having anything on his head. YOur children are adorable! DH and I are considering renting DVC points for a trip in November of 2008 and I really think that the BWV is the way to go. It really looks lovely. Can't wait for the next installment! Cheers, Kim |
