Ticket Bridging Help!

Since Disney is phasing out the N/E option, I am trying to figure out the gate value of a N/E ticket.

If I buy a 5-Day, PH with WFPM and N/E, and use it to enter the MK (for example), what will it be worth when I upgrade it to an AP? If Disney is no longer selling the N/E option, will it just be the same price as the ticket offered without the option?

I had my budget all figured out and I missed the announcement of the price increase because I worked all weekend and never got a chance to get online. Now, I'm thinking that I will need to buy tickets from UCT at the discount and "bridge" them to a DVC AP in order to stay within my budget. It's not what I'd planned on, but the $40 price increase put a big dent in my already tight budget.

Right now, it looks like my best option is buy a 5-Day Park Hopper & Water Fun Parks and More from UCT and upgrade it to an AP. Check my math (all taxes included)...

Cost of DVC AP ($494.16) - GATE cost of 5-day Park Hopper & Water Fun Parks and More ($397.25) = $96.91
Cost of 5-Day Park Hopper & Water Fun Parks and More from UCT ($341.87) + $96.91 to upgrade = $438.78

Does this look correct?

No Expire option is currently still available, just not via the website.

NE is still an option. NE prices are listed on the new ticket prices website: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blo...resort-prices/

I bought my tickets from Florida Ticket Station. They were less than UCT. This is from their facebook page:

Actually, if you have the special link for UCT through the mousesavers newsletter for the discounted price you can do pretty good if you can get your tickets at the old price while supplies last. I just bought two 5 day park hoppers yesterday for a total of $636.88. We plan to use once next May and upgrade to DVC AP. Because the 5 day park hoppers have the biggest savings per ticket, we will be saving a total of $157.62 for both of us and the DVC AP will end up costing us just $830.70 instead of 988.32. Here is the math:

5 day PH from UCT = $318.44 (total)
Gate price from Disney = $397.25 (this includes tax)
Cost of DVC AP = $494.16 (this includes tax)
Additional cost to pay to bridge/upgrade = $96.91
$96.91 + $318.44 = $415.35

Savings = $78.81 per person

I was pretty excited yesterday...almost makes up for not going to WDW this year.....Almost!

Thank You! This helps a lot! It still looks like the 5-day PH/WFP&M will be my best option.

You bought 5-Day PH but credited the 5-Day PH/WFP&M tickets.

One of your numbers is wrong.

The gate price of a 5-day MYW PH ticket is $370.62, not $397.25 (the price that you were quoting is for a 5-day MYW w/ PH and WPF&M).

So your savings end up being just $52.18 per person.

Still a good deal, but not as good as you quoted.

ETA: kristenrice beat me to it.

Thanks! I just figured out that the link that I had used from a DVC thread listing the new ticket prices had the wrong price for the 5 day park hopper. It had the same price listed for both the PH and the WPF&M. What a bummer! I am still saving us a total of $104.36 so I am happy. I only lost out on saving an additional $6.40 if I had gotten the WPF&M tix.

ETA: plus I don't have to worry about the expense for tickets in our vacation budget next year.

I think you will be okay if you do not use any of the WP days before you bridge it to the AP. If you use any of the WP days I think you may have to upgrade to a PAP.

1. Disney is not phasing out the No Expire Tickets. Because many people do not understand the tickets and then complain and demand refunds, you can only purchase the NE option in person or by phone.

2. If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #22, you can get a lot more information about price bridging. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!
