Any vegetarians eat at Ohana?

I was curious what items they have for vegetarians. Thanks

I don't think its the best place for vegetarians. Its very meaty. They have mac & cheese, and salad, but I think I'd really not want to pay the money for such limited choices. Check out the menu.

Thank you for your post. I have checked out the regular menu, but sometimes WDW restaurants make something special for vegetarians or have a special vegetarian menu. I am hoping anyway.

I'm a vegetarian and I've gone there twice (once many years ago with my family and in january with my GF). GF and I have decided it is a must-do restaurant every trip.

Their standard dealing with a vegetarian seems to be making a noodle-veggie stir fry kind of dish. I seem to remember with my parents that it was essentially veggie lo mein (and really, really good). This time it was an udon w/ stir fry vegetables and a pressed pot of miso broth to pour in. Still pretty good, but not as good as I remember the lo mein being. (I could have gone for more noodles and fewer onions and peppers.) Other than that there are a number of sides that are vegetarian (I assume--I didn't actually ask about things like chicken broth and such): salad, wontons and dips (3 of them--the peanut sauce is so good! ), veggies, and scalloped potatoes (also sooo good ).

I think the non-vegetarian sides are shrimp and chicken wings plus the meat on sticks. Honestly during our dinner there GF only got one helping of the meat on sticks--they didn't come around very often with them. (She did eat a TON of the shrimp though.) So even for a meat-lover, the vegetarian items were pretty filling and satisfying in themselves.

We went there with my FIL, he's ovo-lacto, and we thought at least the rice and veggies were plain. Wrong. He sat there looking very glum, and then finally our server asked "Cousin, why you not eating?" and he explained, and he said "Give me ten minutes" and he came back with a huge platter of grilled veggies, plain rice, I think there was even some tofu on there. I don't know if they ran down to Kona Cafe and got him dinner *LOL* but he was very happy when we left. Mind you this was back in 2004, so you might want to ask in advance by calling the restaurant to see what they can do for vegetarians now.

Good luck!

Hi
I think of myself as a vegetarian, but I will eat seafood. So at O'hana I had everything but the meat, which I won't eat. I never asked for the vegetarian dish, so I don't know how good that is. I always had plenty with all the other food that they have. The potatoes are really good and the dessert is great!

Thank you! I thought that they would have plenty of other non-meat food to eat as well. I have no problem eating around the meat. Thank you for your post!

Wow, I had no idea! If I ever become a vegetarian again (I have meat issues, but try my best to push it out of my mind...totally was malnourished as a vegetarian due to laziness) I'll have to remember that. That's so neat they were willing to do that!
