Question Walt Disney World Resort Pens

If I brought home one of the white Walt Disney World Resort pens, that are provided in the resort rooms, after my next trip, would that be considered "ethical"?Are the resort pens considered to be a "disposable" item like the Mickey Mouse soap and shampoo? Thanks.

Better to have been tagged and lost, than to never have been tagged at all

well.. when a standalone ethernet cable is provided, it has a notice that if it's not left in the room, you're assessed a $10 fee. i also have the necessary habit of taking washcloths with me to the parks and inevitably lose them (but i'm sure they'll find their way home) and have never been charged for it to the best of my knowledge. a cheap ballpoint pen with a corporate name on it that they probably buy 10s of thousands at a time for less than pennies on the dollar, i probably wouldn't lose sleep over.

I always figured that companies providing pens was like good (and very cheap) advertising for them.

I always take the resort ones, and, when the server brings one with the bill, it stays with me! They are my souvenirs, and I have a pretty nice collection.

The pens used to "match" the resorts -- is that no longer true? For example, YC ones had red lids and POR ones were tan instead of white with burgandy lids. Somewhere I got a green lid one, too -- might have been CSR.

I LOVE those pens, I have many of them in several different colors! I love the way they write and they're a daily reminder of past and future trips! The pens I have were either in my resort room, or they were given to me by a CM when I mention how much I love them, while I'm signing a receipt.

I ended up with three from my last trip alone. :> I take the pens from every hotel I stay at, and use them at work. That way when I'm miserable, I have a reminder of what I'm working for.

The pens are favors, like one would receive at a wedding or a bridal shower. They are given to us in exchange for the gift we gave to our host (specifically the thousands of dollars we gave to Disney for our stay).
I always come home with the pens, a couple of cardboard coasters and a few extra pounds thanks to the DDP.

Well, I'm glad to know that we aren't the only ones who really like the pens. I've worked in a company where we have ordered pens and, even though this company is obviously on a smaller scale than Disney, we ordered them in large batches, so I think Disney probably does the same. I never really felt badly in taking the pens. It's like a little piece of Disney in my home.

I take the pens from everyplace I go to as well. Even pencils and notepads. I have a collection of the mickey head paper coasters in my living room and everytime I go I replace them with new ones. I like the Happiest Place ON Earth memories with me in every room. They make me happy and they make my kids too. They keep me going until the next time I'm there again
