FL Residents Free in Epcot after 4?

Quote:
according to www.wdwplanner.com:
Florida Resident Epcot After 4:00 Annual Pass - Florida residents will have unlimited admission to Epcot after 4:00 pm (except activities and events separately priced). Proof of Florida residency is required upon admission.
can anyone explain this?? is there something that has to be purchased or do you just need an FL id?

It's a type of annual pass available to FL residents. You must show the pass along with FL ID when you use it. Sorry, I don't know the cost.

First, I wouldn't necessarily trust that site for accuracy. ALL the ticket prices appear outdated.

Second, your quote states Florida Resident Epcot After 4:00 Annual Pass . IF the feature even exists, yes, you must PURCHASE a Florida Resident Epcot After 4:00 Annual Pass. Again, IF such a pass exists, once you purchase it you would have to present the pass AND proof that you are actually a Florida resident, in order to use it.

Yes, it does exist. It is 131.00 per adult and 115.02 per child. FL ID is required to purchase.

I think it is really aimed at the FL DDE people.

DDE was originally only available to FL residents. The offering of a less expensive entrance option encourages people to purchase the DDE & utilize the restaurants more often. Therefore, WDW earns money they may not have otherwise.

I'm sure its a nice option for others as well but to me it makes most sense to be used in conjunction with DDE.

We have a FL residents seasonal pass. It cost us $222.00 a year. Black out times are june and july. Dec. 24 to Jan. 5th not much close out days. We live 7 hours away. This works well for us. Our kids are out of school May 18th so we go down the first week they are out. We also go the end of Aug. and we go the first week of Dec.

I have the seasonal pass and the black out dates don't bother me much, they're usually when the parks are so crowded during Christmas and spring break that all the lines are like 60 minutes or more and when it's hot and humid and rainy during the summer months. The one thing about that pass why I should get the full AP next year is that parking isn't free and I go enough times that paying the extra $$ for the full AP would be a better deal to get the free parking. The EPCOT after 4pm pass is great for local adults to come and eat and experience festivals like the Food and Wine and Flower and Garden where they also get nightly concerts!!
