We love CSR and we cannot not lie!
Okay. We returned from our first family trip to WDW on August 11. We stayed at CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT BABY! We absolutely loved it. When we arrived via Magical Express, it took us less than 10 minutes to check in. Why? Because I did all of my research through this board and I didn't need the resort clerk to explain the disney dining plan to me and pretty much didn't need her to explain the resort to me THANKS to BUZZ! She was very nice and in no time at all, we were in our room (Casitas 5222). And in less than 15 minutes, we were off to MGM. Our bus stop was about a 5 minute walk from our room. No biggie . . . you're walking all day in the parks!!! Anyhoo, we spent the day at MGM, came back and slept like a log! Nice and quiet, so peaceful. Woke up the next day and headed to AK. Honestly, we went there for Expedition and Bugs Life. Both were awesome. We really weren't much in to AK (thanks to my pharmacist who mistakenly told me to take 2 antibiotic pills at once instead of of once twice daily). Yes, I can say that the bathrooms at AK are REALLY clean. After we did what we wanted at AK (loved Bugs Life), we decided to take advantage of the CSR pool for a while before we headed to Epcot. That's when we met Max. Max is a Siesta's worker at CSR. He is fun, hilarious and so honest! Our two kids ( DS11 and DD 8) feel in love with him. Every kid orders and Blue Razz from Max. We headed to Epcot, after relaxing at the most AWESOME resort pool in the world. I'm telling you, you pay for a moderate, but you're getting a deluxe. Actually, more than a deluxe.
I don't want to get in to the rest of our vacation because I'm straying away from the real reason why I'm posting this thread . . .CSR. If you're considering NOT to stay here . . . RECONSIDER! We don't ask for much. We're not spoiled, not thinking we're better than any one else, and not expecting a whole heck of a lot from any one. But CSR made us feel like we were family! We felt at home. If I had to say ONE thing bad about CSR, it would be that if you are concerned about the black mold in the bathrooms (which I had read on the threads), we DID have black mold on the rings of the shower curtain. BUT, it will not keep us from going back. We will request that it be changed out next time because we have friends who will be going with us and their daughters have CF. WE LOVE CSR, we love Max (say hi to him when you go), and we love knowing that we have a family in WDW! Don't listen to people if they say that it's too much walking when you stay there. HELLO! You're walking all day at the parks. Enjoy the fact that you have the ability to walk and enjoy the AWESOME scenery! It's absolutely beautiful! If you need assitance . . . you can call and they WILL come get you! |

I will be going to CSR for my first time in 15 days and I can't wait. So many positive reviews. My only concern now is where to stay?! Casitas or Cabanas?!?! We did CBR last year so we wanted to try something different than that this year but I don't know if I want the Casitas. Life is full of tough descisions!!!

I've been to CSR twice, am hoping to upgrade soon, and already checked and CSR is completely booked during our trip. *sobs* You make me miss it sooooo much!
For the person who asked, personally I'm partial to the Cabanas, they were incredibly quiet and in a perfect location for a bus stop, the pool, and the food without being a huge walk to any one.

I wonder what your opinion would be if you were assigned to a far away Rancho. Would the resort reporting be the same, or would your story differ?

Hey, I was there at the same time. Did you notice the convention that started on the 8th? That's where I was.
As for shower mold, my first reaction to the showers was YECH! But then I noticed that the lower tiles had been repaired with dark-blue grout in a rather uneven way and that in the rather dim bathroom lighting, the grout looked exactly like a black mold infestation. You may not have thought the walk was too bad, but those of us staying in the Ranchos might have disagreed--those are some far walks on hot pavement. Fortunately we were near a bus stop and they had a golf-cart shuttle going, so we hardly ever actually walked. The resort is beautiful--if it had been cooler, I would have enjoyed the stroll. I just switched from Pop Century to CSR for our trip the first week of Dec. I only requested a room closest to the main building. I was on the phone with the CM and completely blanked on the names of the buildings. Hopefully we will get Casitas or Cabanas. So I made a good choice of switching? Anything else you can tell me about CSR would be appreciated. How was the food court? I've read it's kind of expensive. What did you all think?
