Since most people come to this thread looking for cakes, I think if a thread is created limiting it to cake photos, locations and possibly price would be better because it would keep it cleaner.

My cake was about 45 dollars...I was a disney bride so they re created it for me, so I am not sure if they do that specially for us or what, I have seen other caks similar to this though, so I am sure they will do something like it. I ordered it from the GF bakery and they were very strict about looking up my BEO and what it was and all that (it is the top layer of the coral and shells cake - the tall stuff, which would have added more money to it). They would only let me have it IF I was going to be dining at their resort or staying there. So I am not sure what the choices are for delievery someplace else. It was a wonderful recreation, though, we were VERY pleased!
Marble cake w/ milk chocolate mousse!

. The cake could easily have fed like 20 people. We took the rest home, though, and it was amazing all week long!

I'm booking an illuminations specialty cruise and would like to order a birthday cake for on board the boat. Which bakery would be best and will they deliver to the dock at the beach club marina? Thanks!!

Regarding changing the thread, I think if we limit it to just pics and price, i'm assuming we would still have a thread to ask questions? It seems to me that would be more confusing, people would have to be searching for pics on 1 thread, and posting on another. We need to just restart this thread and update the 1st 2 or 3 pages with current cake pics.

Now I will say that I know a bride did a mini illuminations party, and the GF was delivering her cake BUT it got smashed en route and never was delivered... so they may do something like that...

Your cake will come from the BW Bakery if you are doing an Illuminations party. They will deliver, it is my understanding. I'd call the cruise number again to get details.

I like the two separate thread idea but there are people who are always gonna ignore the first page that has all the relevant info and ask the same questions over and over whether the thread is 10 or 3000 pages long OR ignore the request not to post in the pic thread so I am not sure it matters much. Could that thread be locked by a mod and added to on, say, a monthly basis? Hate to add to the mods' workload but it's the only idea I have to make it easier to navigate.
Actually I am not sure a discussion sticky is necessary. Maybe someone can put together the cake pics for a sticky - I might even be willing - that have LOCATION and PRICE available for that pic thread. First page directing to the cakes phone line and a small FAQ plus a periodic reminder in the thread that calling that number is the best research you can do ... voila, done and locked. Cake options have changed very little the past two years that I have been investigating and prices have held the line too. Sorry if I sound cranky but I used to love this thread and answered questions frequently until the same questions came up time and again because the thread was too long and the search doesn't work. I also would respectfully request that wedding cakes not be included on the picture thread. What is available to brides is quite different than the average anniversary or birthday cakes. Just my opinionated 2 cents.

Here is a photo of the two cakes that you could just walk up to Boardwalk Bakery and purchase.

I love that princess cake. Are those just cake toppers that you can keep? Does anyone know if you could buy just the cake toppers?

Those princesses are just cake toppers, little toys. i have a set from the cake I made for my daughter's birthday. I doubt you could get them at Disney, they are sold from a Cake Vendor. |

Is that where you would pick up a cake ordered special from the Boardwalk Bakery, or would you have to go elsewhere? In my many phone calls the past few weeks, Boardwalk cakes seemed to be the best fit for me and my family in terms of what I want and where we want to eat the cake (in our room at the WL and not at a restaurant).
One other question: has anyone here ever had the tropical fruit mousse cake filling? Sounds yummy to me, but I'd like to know what it tastes like (i.e. heavy on coconut, pineaple, or something else). Thanks all!

Hello! We will be eating at Coral Reef for a birthday dinner (actual date of birthday) during our September trip. I have a couple of questions and figured this is a wonderful place, and thread, to ask them!
1. I have hear that you cannot get a cake delivered to a Value Resort (we are staying at Pop). Is that really true? 2. Can we have a cake delivered to Coral Reef, perhaps for the dinner celebration? 3. Last summer I found a picture of a cake ordered from a Disney bakery that was small, a tiny castle cake. It looked like it would have an ivory icing perhaps, and seemed to sit on either a thin chocolate layer or a brown paper base (not sure). Has anyone personally ordered such a cake, and if so, from where?THANK YOU! Kimberly

Like the idea of the cake pictures only thread...wanted to know if I would be able to get a custom cake with Tigger or The Incredibles on it?
Thank you.
