Question Meeting place of the MLPs! Where everyone knows your drink!

Let me preface this with that DH and I will be drinking RESPONSIBLY, after the kids are in bed and no vehicles will be operated. Or heavy machinery...unless an elevator counts as one...hmm..ANYWAY!
Anyone who has stayed at ASMo, can you PLEASE tell me, is there a bar there to purchase some frilly foo foo drinks? Can you take them back to your room? And at what time do they stop serving up the liquid assets?
There is ONE night that we will be back from the parks early, kiddies will be bathed and bedded early and DH and I want to partake in at least one 'grownup' drink while vacationing...Just ONE!
TIA!
Carol

Ahh such a nice beginning to such a wonderful thread of people!

We're not alcoholics either, but we partook of the evening wine/cordials every night while staying at the Polynesian!

And we also have three kids. We love them to death, but sometimes they drive us insane.

Alcohol keeps us sane.

When Mom & Dad are happy, kids are happy!

I'm sorry I don't have any advice about alcohol at the value resorts... I'm sure someone will!

There is a Poolside Bar Outside of Cinema Hall connected with the Fantasia pool area. It is the "Silver Screen Spirits" poolside bar. I don't know if they have "foo foo" drinks, but I'm sure they have something you'd like!!!

We are certainly not alcoholics either, but DH buys beer and puts it in our resort fridge, and I've been known to enjoy a Victoria Falls Mist at the end of an evening.

(from the Victoria Falls Bar at AKL)

Talking Mmmm beer...

Thank You! DH and I are happy to read that we aren't the only ones who need a little something something to just relax after what will undoubtably be a very BUSY day! I was worried I might get flamed for asking about alcohol..you just never know!

There is a bar at the All Stars

And this post hits on one of the worst parts of the DIS. For an ADULT to ask about performing a LEGAL activity she has to fend off the flamers who "know it all" LOL!

(I think the bar closes about 11 or so... I know that I got a beer there as late as 10. Yes I drink at Disney and NO I don't care if you don't like it! LOL!)

here's my fave vacation strategy for parents of small children... mom gathers the dirty laundry and heads to the laundry room... puts the first load in the washer and grabs a froo-froo drink or a glass of wine at the pool bar... switch the laundry over from washer to dryer and finish enjoying drink on a lounge chair near the laundry room... all the while dad is putting kids to bed... mom finishes wash/dry/folding and picks up two more drinks at the pool bar (or a bottle of wine at the gift shop) and juggles them and the clean laundry (bring a rolling suitcase!) arriving back at the room just as dad drags the two chairs onto the walkway... ahhhhhhhhhhh... sit, relax, enjoy while the kids snooze happily... what better way to end a magical day?

the Pop has both an outside bar and an inside lounge... relax even Disney allows drinks for adults....

(the only exception is the MK - but the MK resorts have 'em)

With three kids I'd drink too. Heavily.

Just kidding!

There is a pool bar at the Al stars, but I've seen it close as early as 5:00pm in the off seasons, and if there's bad weather they will close up even during peak season.

So..... I'd plan on blinging along some "fixin's" to make you own. Powdered Maragarita Mix and you can buy a bottle of the good part from the gift shop when you arrive to avoid worrying about breakage in transit. They also sell beer and wine, and the prices on alcohol aren't bad at all.

Have fun!

Alright, since I won't get berated in this thread, do the bars at the Deluxe resorts (WL specifically) have cups/containers so that you can take a couple of drinks back to your room? My wife and I are taking our 5 y/o daughter to DW for the first time this coming February, and we would like to relax on the balcony while she is sleeping. Heck, I'll settle for a nice Dixie cup if I can get it!

Not flaming the OP, but I'm wondering when having a drink while your kids are awake became a no-no?

Depending on the bar and their "glass supply" they will either send you on your way in the bar glass or pour it into plastic for you. But yes, you are quite welcome to retreat to your room with your "nip."

Might be a bit cold to relax on the balcony at night in February though, the temps generally drop into the 50's by around 8:00pm and can go down from there.
