If one uses a travel agent, then one's DME documents are ALWAYS mailed to the TA, and then it is between you and the TA to agree on how you will get the documents.

No matter where you live, you should still receive the information. Please contact your TA, and then your TA's supervisor if necessary.

No worries!

Disney's Magical Express is free... you should not have paid for it.

To tag or not tag a stroller

Just curious, we are planning on gate checking our stroller, should we be tagging it with a yellow tag as well, if we don't plan on needing it/using it right away, or can we just have it stowed under bus without the yellow tag? Thanks

If you gate check it, you will get it back at the gate at Orlando. It won't be sent with the rest of the luggage into the bowels of the airport, so you will have to take it with you to the bus, where the driver will happily stow it for you under the bus (and you will happily tip for this service ).

The only luggage that is tagged with those yellow tags is the luggage that you hand over to be checked. If you are going to gate check the stroller, do not tag it. You will get a different tag at the gate (I believe). Then, it will be waiting for you when you deplane at MCO, and it will go underneath the bus you are riding on to your resort.

never gate checked anything, just need clarity

Ok so I am going to tag all my luggage before goint to our local airport, to fly to Orlando. I will be using the yellow tags, and my bags with tags, will magically appear at our resort. nice. I understand that part finally ha ha

Now when I gate check my stroller our our airport, I will get it once arriving to ORlando. Where exactly do I have to claim the stroller at , I know I hear it will be given to us at the gate, but is that right where we are entering, as we walk into the Orlando airport? Sorry I just want to make sure this trip goes smoothe and I am worrying about every detail. Thanks for all the help.

First time flyer, here. I'm also curious about what it means to check your luggage at the gate, and why you would do so. Thanks!

Depends on the airline. Allegiant unfolded ours for us and it was waiting by the door of the plane as we exited. Spirit threw ours down, unfolded by another gate. We had to have an employee help find it. On the return flight, they told us it was at the gate, and it was still on the plane. So, you never know! I would still gate check it though- and hopefully you aren't flying Spirit or I just freaked you out even more.

You don't check your luggage at the gate. The only time that 'might' happen is if your carryon bag was too large to take on with you..then it would have to be checked luggage.
When you get to your airport, for your departing flight, you will go directly to your particular airline's counter. There your luggage will be tagges with the airline's destination tag (DME yellow tags will be put on at your home), then you are given claim receipts for the bags. Your bags will go away, not to be seen again, until you get to your resort (if you have put the yellow DME tags on them). You, then, head to security at the airport. Your carryon bag goes through the scanner, your quart sized ziploc baggie (with 3 oz toiletries) goes on it's own. Your shoes most likely go as well, along with any coats or such. You will be asked to show your ID and boarding pass before going through security and then again as you exit the human scanner. Collect your belongings and off to the gate you go. There, you will await instruction when it's time to board. At this point, if someone had a stroller, wheelchair, etc., it would be 'gate-checked'. It is taken away before you board the plane, tagged and put in the belly of the plane. When the plane lands, the gate-checked items are taken out first, brought up to the jetway, where they are handed off to the appropriate passenger, who then leaves the jetway.
HOpe that helps a bit.

so...I know this sounds like I'm repeating...but I'm not..(maybe )
I called - told the hotel line of our airline time and plans- just got tags today(whoopee,1st time,so excited!!!) - but they say no info for flight- it doesn't matter when we get in,right? it has the correct date,so we just head to the desk, and we'll be ok? (so excited so excited)
...And....is this heresy to tell the return desk you'll take a later flight than you actually will? or is that impossible to do using resort checkin(which we will be) to return home?
I've read a few threads on check in times for flights, long lines,etc-and wondered what anyone thought of this idea....

I would call DME and update them with your flight information. No you won't be able to give them a different flight time since you will be checking in for your flight.

Yep, you've got it. But.....I wouldn't give DME a different time of departure for your flight. If you are planning on checking your bags at your resort, you will have to have the correct times with them. Besides, you're only talking about a difference of about half an hour here. You may need that time when you get to the airport..if you run into any kind of heavy traffic, an accident, long security lines, well, you get my drift. Much better to just leave at the right time.

ok- point taken...... um- about the date we arrive- I hesitate to call again on this reservation,as i've read some horror stories about when you call for a res.#- sometimes the cm changes things around, and before you know it,there are mistakes all over your plans.....if we just use these tags, and get there, will we be abe to grab the bus? they have the right date and hotel on them...
