Just back from some great dining, the cast of characters is me, the wife,
daughters (4 & 8). We had the DDE card, and this was our second trip in the past calendar year. Total savings this trip was around $142.00, added to the last trip, total savings was over $400....well worth the $50 to get it. 6-3 >> Whispering Canyon (dinner) >> The wife and I had the canyon skillet, which was very good (especially the corn), we love the atmosphere of this place and the kids had a ball with horse races (ahem...trot) and all the other antics. Food-- B Service-- C Fun Factor-- A+ 6-4 >> Rainforest Cafe (dinner) >> After a busy day at the AK, this was a nice way to wind down and cool off. Good food, good service, great atmosphere. The wife had the shrimp platter (2 thumbs up), I had the chicken sandwich. Food-- A Serivce-- B Setting-- A 6-5>> Chef Mickey's (dinner) >> This was for the kids, because there is no way the wife eats $29 worth of buffet food (me.....maybe) The food was average to above average. The desserts were GREAT, and the character interaction is why we parents dish out the big bucks for stuff like this. Food-- B Service-- B Character interaction-- A 6-6 >> Mama Melrose's (Fantasmic dinner) >> This is a regular for us, and we were pleased as usual. I had the charred steak which was suprisingly good, the wife had the salmon, which she thought was great. Great service here (first time on the trip we actually had "great" service) Sy was our waiter's name I believe. Food-- A Service-- A+ Desserts-- 6-7 >> Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner)>> Another staple in our disney diet. Comfort food at it's best, with great character interaction to boot! Only complaint was that we were seated late (25 min. after our ADR time, and only then because I asked), our table area was realllllly cold, and refills on drinks and food were nearly non-existent. Food-- B+ Service-- D Characters-- A Part 2 will be posted soon
