Repeat Cruise Question

I cruised DCL in 2007, and booked my 2008 cruise while on board, to get the discount and stateroom credit. I plan to cruise the original cruise I booked (Panama Canal WB).

When 2009 cruise itineraries are announced in the next few weeks, can I book another cruise with the same discount or stateroom credit? Or do I need to wait until my May 2008 cruise to get this discount/credit, which of course, rates may be higher then.

If the answer to paragraph 2 is no, I have to wait, can I book, then apply the cruise discount/stateroom credit when I cruise in May 2008 towards the 2009 booking.

I supposed I should have booked 2 cruises when I sailed in 2007, one with the cruise I wanted, and another one with the cruise to switch to 2009.

Any thoughts?

No. You can only get that discount if you are actually onboard.

I believe that you will have to make a second booking at the current rates. Otherwise it would be no different than booking now with the credit/discount that you are not currently entitled to.

There is no way to get the discount/credit unless it is a booking made onboard the ship. Even if you leave the ship and call them the next day you will not get the discount credit.

Sorry.

Unfortunately, to receive the onboard booking discount and OBC, one needs to be onboard when booking the cruise.

I'm not sure whether one can apply the onboard discount/OBC to an existing reservation. I have read both yea and nay postings. You might want to check with DCL. (Or another poster to this thread.)

It looks like your question has been pretty well answered - but I thought I would give you some good news... According to previous posts - if you book early on a special cruise (like the 2009 itins) before the prices start to go up due to demand, you will often get a better price than you would with the 10% discount booking later.

Just stay tuned to the DIS and get that 2009 res early!

Also, say you booked a 7 day cruise and then moved that booking to a 14 day WB panama cruise you would not get the same deal, you would get what ever "extras" are offered at the time you change the cruise. Like the stateroom credit, if you booked the 7day OB and the credit was say (I know this is the wrong amount, it's just for explaining) $200 per room, and the 14day had a $1000 credit but you didn't book it and alter changed the 7 day to the 14day, and the OB credit at the time you changed was only $800... then you only get the $800 not $1000.

basically, if you move a 7 day cruise to another 7 day cruise everything carries over. If you change the length then you get what's being offered at the time of the change, just like you were booking a new cruise when off the ship.

Hello: Here's a question. We're going on a 3 day cruise on Jan. 24. I've already booked and paid for a 7 day cruise on Feb. 23. While on the Jan. 24th cruise can I re-book the Feb. 23rd cruise and be eligible for the credit and discount even though I've paid in full for the Feb. 23rd cruise? Thanks a ton.

I'm on the WB also. Come over to the meets site and join us. We love to get to know you and whoever is cruising with you!
