Just to make sure you all know who's who in these (and I sooo appreciate your kind words, horsegirl!), the CookMaster (much better hair than mine) and her family are in the bus pic, and I am on the right in the pic of us at Ohana. My boys are blondie-ish, but it is amazing people say they look like me all the time! They say familes tend to look alike after awhile. We always say that one of the great blessings of adopting our children is that they are better looking than we are!!!

I'm loving your TR. I can't wait to ride EE. Everyone has such good things to say about the ride.
A question for you: We're going with a big group (16) in Dec. and I'm wondering about meals. I think we will only eat dinner together as a group. How crazy was dinner for y'all?

Thanks Libby!

Well, with eight in our group this year dinners were great and we almost always sat at one nice big table. We split with the kids once (at the next table at Prime Time) , but that was fine. It was a bit more complicated last May when there were 14 of us. We had to split tables most meals. It was fine because we actually put the kids at separate tables from us (!) but they ranged in age from 13 down to almost 6 and did very very well, I must say. It didn't hurt that we threatened and glared from the next table and I don't mind saying that only three of eight kids were boys . When you call to make your ADRs for a party over 13 (I think that's the #), you will be transferred to the Grand Gathering dept--at least that's what I did for last year's ADRs. PM me if you want to know more details. Have fun planning!

Next chapter coming Monday, God willing!

Part 8, still Day 4

After a full blown CS meal (thanks DDP) at Pizzayucky, we followed the CookMaster’s magic friend’s instructions to get to Lion King by 1:40. The CookMaster walked right up to the entrance and announced we were there to check in for special seating per her friend. That cast member gave us the blankest stare I’ve ever seen. We tried to recreate it here:

She suggested we go to the show’s EXIT door. Fine. Yes, fine if you are a salmon swimming upstream to spawn!! It was like that scene in Indiana Jones where Indy is trying to find Marion amid all the basket heads! 100,000 people had just exited the 1:00 Lion King. I thought the DHs were going to K-I-L-L us. We did reach the exit and were ushered in to front row seating in the Warthog section!

We couldn’t believe it!!

Our need to be entertained was strongly fulfilled when the show’s queen (“The Gift”) honed right in on the CarpetMaster!!! He HATES attention!! I told you he’s ‘not much of a hugger.’ He wears a sign that says Under No Circumstances Pick Me. So, we hit the jackpot when The Gift put the microphone right in front of him and asked, “What’s your name?” Without missing a beat he replied, “Cledus.”

I know you smarties realize that’s not his real name. He always answers “Cledus”, though, to be funny. Cledus. Cleedus. Kleatus. Cleatus. I told you we never figured out how to spell it. Anyway, that’s how he orders at Starbucks, too. Cledus B. Gatelatch. That’s his stage name, as it were. That’s his George-Costanza–telling-strangers-he’s-an-architect name. It got better, too, because that Queen pulled Cledus out of the audience to teach the Warthog section how to warthog!

I thought the boys would fall on the floor with laughter!! DH, the CookMaster and I were in pain from laughing. The entire scene was another of so many many magical moments we experienced on this trip of a lifetime.

After the show, we were escorted (!) backstage for our second superfantabulous meet-and greet. You can see that the CookMaster had hugs for The Other Woman in Cledus’ life.

By now, we are seasoned veterans of the hooty-hoo Disney backstage meet-and-greet. DH and Cledus thought it was sooo funny to tease and mock us over our excitement. Cledus is a gleeper. Cledus says he gleeps as a way of watching fans admire others' work. Watching wives and kids fawn over characters is gleeping. He gleeped backstage at the Grand Ole Opry and the other shows when the CookMaster was a famous singer-star, so he’s a practiced gleeper now. He demonstrated gleeping for us:

The cast could not have been kinder. Their costumes are fantastic!

They clearly love to perform and many have been doing this show for years. We were so very grateful for the opportunity to meet them and thank them for their gifts of entertainment!

Yes, a short chapter but I have to get my boys to some fields to kick and bat some balls. I had to post since I promised Monday and SOME PEOPLE are holding me to it!

Much more to come! NEXT chapter: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...0&postcount=79

Sigh...DH just read the most recent chapters and wants me to tell the readers two things:
--he admits to oversleeping and stinking up the bathroom and now apologizes for both errors and
--he further explained (corrected) the definition of gleeping. Let it be noted the last chapter has been edited to rectify the error.

Coming in tomorrow's chapter: California Grill, Lemon Drops, and MGM!

These meets you are getting are unbelievable
I am very happy for you, but sad for me, cause I wasn't there. The pictures are the best. This will be a trip that goes down in history.

My next trip I am picking up a CM and making them my new best friend.

Yes!! Forget ADRs, planning your days and dealing with clueless CMs. Just sincerely befriend the first one you see! Perhaps if you do their laundry you will be a friend for life.

We are so humble and grateful for the CookMaster's magic. The meet-and-greets were terrific but the best part of the trip was the magical environment created by Disney on a vacation with family and friends.

I'm swamped.
More tomorrow...
