If you buy DVC does that automatically qualify you for AP's?
I thought AP"s were for Florida residents? But when I inquired about someone who is selling their DVC @ the Boardwalk, they were saying that you can get an AP for X amount of dollars. Thanks.

You can get an AP at a discounted rate for being a DVC member.

Florida residents can get a regular AP at a discounted price, or a Seasonal Pass (with blackout dates and no free parking) at a super discounted price.
DVC members can get a regular AP at a discounted price that is less than what a Florida resident would pay. A DVC member who is a Florida resident also can get a regular AP at the very lowest discount. The Seasonal Pass is for Florida residents only. |

We are New York residents and have had annual passes on and off for years. Owning DVC has made it a lot easier to get the annual pass with the $100.00 discount it provides.

I live in PA and have had annual passes since 1998, I average about 20 days per pass. I plan my trips so that my trip the next year is a week earlier, right before the pass expires, so I only buy them about every 18 months.

Just to be clear for the OP~
You do not need to do anything to "qualify" for an AP. Anyone visiting WDW can purchase an AP as long as they have the money to do so. Florida residents and DVC members receive a discount when purchasing an AP. My understanding is that the discount is close to, if not the same, for these two groups and that the discounts cannot be combined if you happen to be a DVC owner and a Florida resident. Florida residents also have two other admission options available to them for purchase. The Seasonal Pass (already mentioned by a previous poster) and the Epcot after 4 pm Pass. HTH!

I am assuming I know the answer to this question but just to make sure, can renters get AP discount rates, and how many APs can one DVC member buy with their membership.

No renters can't qualify for AP discounts.
You have to provide your blue member card and a drivers license to get the discounted AP and only those residing in the same household as the member can get a discounted AP.
