Did I "choose wisely"?? Fantasy 5D cabin

A little Indiana Jones reference there in the title!

I booked cabin 6070 on the Fantasy. This is a category 5D cabin. I chose it because of the following reasons:

1. Wanted a verandah
2. Wanted a non-connecting cabin
3. Wanted to be near the mid/fore elevators
4. Wanted port side

I've been reading a few reports and apparently the cabins below this cabin have verandahs that extend beyond ours.

Is this the case all the way around the ship in deck 6, or just this specific area? I looked at the deck plans and it looks like the yellow boats are below deck 6 the further towards mid that you go. Do they extend out past the deck 6 verandahs too? I'm used to the Magic where you can look straight down from you verandah and see the water, and not see anyone else's verandah.

Is there is a different/better category for us to choose, such as a 5 A,B, or C where we could avoid this? It's not a huge deal since we really don't spend much time looking straight down. LOL Is it very noticeable when you're sitting on your verandah and people are on theirs below you??

We had a 5D 6th deck port side aft cabin on our recent Fantasy cruise. We really liked it because the midship elevators were always VERY crowded. 6158 was just steps from the aft stairs and elevator, and it was not noisy at all. It was extremely convenient for getting to Europa & Cabanas. With that said, We did book a 4E with the oversized verandah for our next cruise. We were a little jealous of the folks below us with their private loungers. For us the $200 up-charge is totally worth it. There are also a few cabins in the 4E category that have even larger SUPER huge verandahs, and we were lucky enough to book one of those for our Fantasy cruise next January.

In the aft and forward you will have the extended verandahs below you, and midship it is the lifeboats. Most people say they do not mind the lifeboats below, because most of the time you are just looking out. It didn't seem like a big deal that people were on their verandahs below, but I would definitely make sure to be decently dressed on my verandah. The people below you can look up & also the neighbors to either side can peep through by the railing. For that reason, I guess the midship above the lifeboats is more private.
