I agree....very slow hairdryer...especially for 4 girls to use! I'll bring my own next time.

I had no problem with the hair dryer on board - as long as it was plugged into the special round outlet in the desk. If you plug it into the other plugs, then it did not have enough power from that outlet to blow hot air.

On the Dream? Or on the Magic and Wonder? OP is talking about the Dream. I would expect Disney would have upgraded the Dream since there seem to be a lot of complaints here about the hair dryers. Either that, or those dissatisified with the hair dryers on the Wonder and Magic are just a vocal minority.

Are you guys sure that you were plugging the dryer into the correct receptacle? Ours worked fine.

That is the wrong one! The dryer is 220 VAC. The correct receptacle is to the right. The wave phones are 110 VAC.

My Wave phone was plugged into the round one when I got into the cabin. Thanks to that I didn't even NOTICE that it round for the hairdryer since the charger was hiding it. It wasn't until we called and asked that I unplugged the Wave phone and saw it was round for the hairdryer.

I just did B2B on the dream and plugged the hair dryer in every socket possible and it never worked well. We even stayed in concierge on the second cruise and the hair dryer was the exact same. My hair is really thin and usually blows dry in a matter of minutes but it took about 15 minutes to get my hair dry on the dream. Next time I will bring my own.

The Dream is the only DCL ship with an actual hand-held hair dryer you can plug in out in the cabin. The ones on the Wonder (and I think the Magic as well?) are those horrible fixed wall units (mounted in the bathroom) that have a hose you hold to blow your hair. You can barely hold the thing because it gets hot on your hand, but has no power for actually drying your hair. They're awful. They remind of the dryers they have in hotel rooms all across Europe.

I was on the MV and the hair dryers worked great for me. Much improved over the "classic" ships.
