DS16 was fighting a migraine today so skipped XC practice. So he was along the ride to pick up his little sister at school.
DD wanted to play with her friends, who were in after-care, on the playground while we waited for DS11 to get out of basketball practice.
DS16 was feeling better so he ended up playing zombie, freeze tag, and base tag with about 15 6-10 year olds on the playground.
The staff was thrilled and asked if he would like to work at after-care with them. The moms that were there loved it too because he was being goofy and kind when a lot of times the teens (mine included) would rather not hang with a bunch of "little kids".

My son's high school (1100 students) just raised over $100,000 for the annual "Cops for Cancer " tour. My son had his head shaved along with 130 other students. They also did car washes, bake sales, service auction among other things to raise money. The kids organized everything.

My daughter's middle school (400 students) raised $12,000.

That is so true. DS will be 21 this week & it has flown by. He was a good kid and now he's a great man! Hang in there all you mamas struggling with teens. This too shall pass.

I posted a different thread about a single mom friend of mine who is having a rough time right now. We went out to dinner with her last week and my DS13 knew she was struggling. He arranged the seats at the table so that he sat with her two little girls and kept them entertained the whole time so she and I could talk, all without me saying anything.
