Castaway Cay Excursions, worth it??

Hi,
We are planning our first ever cruise on the Disney Dream in May. 5 of us are going, ages, 42 - 5. Looking at all there is to do, and a short stay in Disney World after the cruise, it gets pretty expensive. Any suggestions on how to get the best for our money, or save money? Are the excursions on Castaway Cay worth it? THanks for the feedback!!!

we don't do anything on Castaway Cay that cost money. Once we dis the snorkeling and it was fine. You can always rent the bikes, snorkel and float devices once you get on shore.

First cruise, I would just play it by ear and see if you are interested in anything once you get there.

We have been to CC twice and you can have a really wonderful visit with minimal $. The first time DH got a package that was $30 for snorkel gear, float tube and bike rental, the second time we just hung out with the kiddos at the beach. There is plenty to do for free: beach, playground thing out in the water, shaded game pavilion, water play area on land, you can walk the bike trail to the lookout tower. A couple tips that worked well for us: plan to be up for breakfast promptly so you get the most time ashore you can. We did buffet breakfast, and when we were there we grabbed fruit & cereal boxes, to take with us because lunch buffet on the island doesn't start til 11:30 I think it was. They will have a stack of towels available just after you leave the ship so you don't have to bring them from your room. They also have bottled water for sale but the free drink stations will also be available. The family beaches are two big crescents, head for the second one, it's a little less crowded, and it's closer to the game pavilion and spring a leak. They have several lunch areas and bathroom areas so not to worry there either. If you are sending postcards from the island you should be able to get Bahamian stamps at Guest Services so you don't have to spend time in line at the post office. Have a great visit, can't wait toget back there myself!
