Beach Club Villas - Sleeper Sofa

Hi all,

We have a one bedroom suite booked at the BCV's over the summer. I was wondering if anyone had any reviews on the comfort, size, etc of the queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

We will be there for five nights with four adults. I also have a studio booked at the BCV for another two adults.

As usual I am second, third and fourth guessing myself.

Thanks for any input....

When DVC started replacing the old sleeper sofas with the bar underneath, this was one of two types they used. This one the cushions stay attached and the back flips forward to make the bed with the attached cushions helping to support the foot of the bed. This one has a decent mattress.

The other type is a platform style with a thin sectioned memory foam mattress. Not nearly as comfortable.

Terminology correction: the villas are villas and not suites. Only the hotels have suites.

Very uncomfortable for 2 adults. No bar, but it didn't matter. The first night the mattress was so lumpy we asked for it to be replaced, which they did.

As two adults, both of us rolled toward the middle. Plus, there is a bar on the side of the bed which was miserable to hoist myself over every morning.

We had four adults in a one bedroom and the sofa bed was so uncomfortable we checked out two days early and moved over to Portofino Bay Hotel where we had two queen beds.

IMO, the sofa bed is only suitable for children.

We have had adults us the sleepers at both the BW and BC and there has never been a complaint. Not sure about the bar the pp was talking about since the ones we had didn't have anything on the side and there was no problem getting in and out of the bed.

Well size wise since it is a queen sofa sleeper, its a queen size.

Comfort, its a sofa bed, they all sleep about the same to me, horrible. While the type at the BCV is somewhat more comfortable since the back cushions stay attached it made it harder to get in and out of the bed on the side.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to have to consider this. For five nights two adults will need to sleep in that sofa sleeper if I stay with the one bedroom. I liked the idea of the kitchen and the extra space, but now I'm not sure.

Right, first its a sofa sleeper. Not a bed dont expect it to be a bed. As far as sofas it would be more comfortable to not pull it out and sleep on top of it as a couch. It is thin and the side rails are a killer. Adult of child it is still not a real bed. Our solution was to bring a blow up air mattres. This worked best ouf all for our DD.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong so correct me if I am - but you have a 1BR and a studio reserved - were there no dedicated 2BR villas available? That would give you a bedroom with a king, another bedroom with 2 queens, plus the sleeper sofa in the LR. If there are 6 adults total, they would all have a bed accomodation in a dedicated 2BR.

I've slept on the sofa beds as well as the sleeper chairs in many WDW villas. I'm only 4'11" - and I will only do it again if absolutely necessary. This last trip I was super uncomfortable & I lost a lot of sleep from it. There's no way I could sleep with 2 adults sharing the sofa bed, even if it's a queen. I'd have to book elsewhere!

Now that being said, I'm used to an extra thick pillow top king bed at home, so I'm spoiled. I also have fibromyalgia so being comfortable to sleep is very important to me. If you're used to a smaller bed, or have no trouble sleeping anywhere, then you should be just fine.

Hi! I can see where you would ask about the two bedroom. First, no two bedroom dedicated with two queens were available with my pin code when I first booked. Second, four of the party of six are arriving after the first two. I'll explain and maybe someone has some ideas.

My DH and I are arriving on July 14 staying until July 24 when we move to Portofino Bay at Universal. My DD, DS, DD's BF, and my Mom (75) are all coming on July 19 and then going to Portofino Bay with DH and I.

I didn't want to pay the full two bedroom rate for the extra 5 nights....so I split it into a one bedroom and a suite. DH and I will be in the one bedroom and then DS and mom will join us. DD and DD BF will be in studio.

Yes, everything but if the sleeper will be ok I read on another thread about the egg crate. I'm wondering, can you request these. It actually might be worth the investment to bring it myself or have it sent as well.

Any thoughts anyone?

At BCVs very few of the two bedrooms have two queen beds, only 25 and they book up by DVC members.

You can request one but first come, first serve, they run out quickly and honestly it was so worn down it did not help. I would bring my own.
