BTW if you can make hats and gloves you have the skills to make a sweater. Find a simple pattern, in a child size even, and give it a try. Sewing on sleeves can seem intimidating but is easy once you get the hang of it. There are plenty of good resource books and Youtube videos to help. Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to give you a hand or help find resources and links.

A friend of mine used to have a book of them, had a look on amazon though and it's pretty expensive. Ebay?
