It is something she can have forever but it can go into remission and possibly never bother her again. I went into remission once but then had a major stress on my body and everything came back. If she isn't seeing a lyme literate doc she should even if she doesn't have lyme because they also treat babesia and the other types of tick born illnesses.

Have her watch the documentary Under Our Skin it's free on Hulu and on Netflix streaming

I commented a few pages back about my co-worker's daughter seeing one of the top lyme disease specialist who is in New York state. He picked up this second diagnosis as they went to him just knowing about the lyme. Her daughter is doing really well now and recently blogged about her experience. If I can find the link I will share it.

Jennasis, I'm glad your Sister finally got a diagnosis, and I'm sure you are a bit relieved as well. Agreed, it's a little frightening that she had to demand to be tested for it.

I just wanted to say try not to google too much regarding your Sister's condition. The same for her too! It's a slippery slope in trying to remain well-informed on a medical condition, and being too informed which causes incessant worry. The latter will not help your Sister get healthy, as we all know how much stress exacerbates everything. You'll drive yourself crazy too!

I wish your Sister lots of positive, healing light and I hope she feels better ASAP!

You're welcome. It was very eye opening and I had no idea what a tick bite could do until I became sick and undisguised for over a year. Now years later I'm still fighting for my life

The only tests that came back positive for anything was low vitamin D level,
After doing much research, I stopped eating gluten, and started taking many different vitamins and minerals. Within four weeks I felt 100% better. I still have pain, but no where near as bad. Doctors roll their eyes at me when I tell them. I don't care. I know what works and what doesn't.
OMG this is my story too! I kid you not! I have had issues for years, but this past year has been pretty bad....I got SO tired of limping around, unable to move properly. My brother had similiar symptoms, and had tried going GF,and saiid he felt somewhat better....so I decided to try it...I couldn't believe the difference! I have no idea why/how it works, all I know is That my 'traveling aches and pains' have diminished by about 95% since doing this...
(I have a ds who is severely allergic to wheat itself,so quite familiar with the elimination diet process and the foods)
Since there are no other obvious gluten connections to make me notice, this surprised me.
I still get achy.etc, but no limping/inability to move various limbs/horrendous back problems/sore joints.....I don't care WHY it works,I just know it does!
