Booked Another Solo Disney Cruise

I am so excited to book another Disney Cruise for September 2014. This is a 14-night transatlantic cruise from Barcelona, ES to San Juan, PR. I plan on spending three/four days in Spain and two days in Puerto Rico. I have completed five solo cruises but typically they no more than 7 days. I feel confident about travelling solo and not worried about being by myself. Has anyone else done or considered cruising solo? Aside from the cost what would prevent you from cruising solo?

I have recently been looking at a solo cruise but must admit I hesitate, especially a transatlantic cruise because of the many days at see. What will you do on those long days?

Liz,

I really enjoy travelling solo especially cruising. I usually run into other passengers that I've seen on previous cruises so it's nice to mingle and make new friends especially on a long cruise like this.
Sea days are some of my favorite days and I look forward to them. I've been on one transatlantic cruise before so I know what to expect and Disney is really great at having all sorts of activities planned. If I am not interested in some of these activies I also plan spa days, reading and even several meals at Palos.

Plus the cooking class and lectures are on the longer cruises.
Time goes too fast even on the longer cruises..

Aside from cost? There's nothing else preventing me from cruising solo. I just can't get beyond the huge supplement for solo cruisers on Disney. DS works in entertainment on another cruise line, and I'd love to go on a cruise and watch him perform. However, his cruise line (Princess) doesn't give discounts to family unless you've been a supervisor for 5 years, and honestly, I'd rather go on Disney (unless the price was really right). But other than cost preventing me? Nothing else! I've done a couple dozen solo WDW trips and I'm confident that I'd be comfortable solo-just bring on the discounts!

A transatlantic cruise is my dream. Cost is the only factor for me. I would rather go alone and meet new people. Sometimes traveling with a friend can be a lot of work, I feel like I have to make sure they are having a good time. I love a new adventure!

Disney's transatlantic cruises are typically some of their best bargins but of course you have to factor in airfare and hotels prior to and after the cruise. The last transatlantic cruise I was on I met some great people who have become friends that I often meet up with either at WDW, DLR and other cruises. I hope one day soon you get to experience one of these cruises because they are so much fun.

I have been thinking about doing Disney World solo and I think I would be fine with that but I don't know about a cruise. I am not sure if I would be comfortable enough for that. Although I have thought about it since I love cruises. Isn't the cost really bad though since they want at least two people in a cabin?

I've done many solo trips to WDW and five solo Disney Cruises with three others reserved. I really don't think cruising solo is a big deal and I tend to run into familiar faces all the time both passengers and crew members. It is true that I have to pay a single supplement when I cruise but I don't think it's bad. Obviously some cruises are more expensive then others but to save money I tyipcally book my new cruise while travelling on a cruise and that saves 10%. I would suggest you take a look at the Disney Cruise site and search for cruises you might find a deal too good to pass up.

actually the transatlantic cruises are 'cheap" compared to others..I just booked the ebta for 700 per person for 2 weeks, so a single supplement isn't too bad..plus there are lots of singles..

This is true about transatlantic crusies but you also need to consider airfare and possible hotel if you plan on staying in Barcelona for a few days.
