Is BLT sold out?
I just read on another thread that BLT is now sold out. Does this mean potential DVC members will not be able to make BLT their home resort?

There's always resale. DVC usually does get some points back by right of first refusal or foreclosures, they don't actively market them but they are available. They probably want to get AKV soldout by the time GF is ready.

"Sold out" refers to the initial offering and marketing initiative and the fact that the resort is no longer part of that initiative. You can still purchase any of the "sold out" resorts because ownership is fluid. Between wait lists, foreclosures, ROFR, etc. DVD can typically obtain inventory at a specific "sold out" resort within a short amount of time. The big exception to that is VGC, which is a completely different situation.
Quite frankly, given the price differential between direct and resale at BLT, I don't understand why anyone would want to make BLT their home resort as a direct purchaser. But that's a conversation for another thread I suppose.

nothing is ever really "sold out" - you can still get OKW, the first DVC, directly if you like to pay higher prices than resale.

Even sold out does not happen all at once, it happens by use year (month) so just becouse one person reports sold out does not say that every month is sold out.

My data (based on deeds filed with the Orange County Comptroller) shows that DVD as of October 31, 2012, Disney Vacation Development had about 120,000 BLT left to sell to the general public. As bookwormde pointed out, some Use Years have less points available than others. October UY has only about 7,600 points left, while February UY has about 53,000 points left. DVD may not actually want to sell all of those points, however, because it may be using them to fund cash reservations over the next several months.
Last month, DVD sold 21,934 BLT points. If you want to read more about current sales, click here.
