One night stay post-cruise
Trying to figure this one out.
Coming off the Fantasy on Saturday, January 19th. Will have a rental car. Driving directly to WDW with the following goals in mind- Visit MK to check out New Fantasyland with DD7 Get a good night's sleep Breakfast at Kona Cafe Drive to MCO for 1:00 flight home Sunday Values are out. Resorts on the table until last night- Wilderness Lodge (never stayed there, convenient to MK by boat) AKL (LOVE it) Poly (convenient) Coronado Springs (less $$$, frankly curious about it) Swan Last night I started thinking about a studio at BLT as an alternative. Cheaper than Contemporary and the small room size doesn't faze me since we are coming off of a cruise ship and it's only one night. Not looking for any other room category other than standard-we will be in the room only for sleep and get-ready. Still like to come "home" to a comfortable resort. The upcoming GP discounts make a deluxe price out lower than Swan so that's pretty much off the table. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. |

I would pick WL as first choice -- convenient to MK and a beautiful resort. Although the rooms are smallest among the deluxes, for just the two of you they are beautiful. CSR would be my last choice as it is about as far away from MK as you can be and still be in DisneyWorld. Same thing for AKL and Swan, if all you want is to be at MK, I would do WL first choice and Poly second.

AKL is our favorite. With that being said, looking at your goals I would choose Poly. Kona is there, easy access to MK via monorail, and similar vibe as AKL. Make it easy on yourself after the cruise.

Since its only 1 night, and your goals are MK & Poly, I'd make life easy and stay at Poly. You wouldn't even have to use your car. Just hop on monorail to MK. And for breakfast your there!
2nd choice would be WL. A. Great resort. I would also use WL boat to MK. Then drive to poly for breakfast. It's just across the road from WL. But at any resort I would just use resort transportation to MK. It would be faster then driving to TTC, finding parking, waiting for tram, then transferring to monorail or boat to get to MK. We tired it once, and decided for MK, resort transportation is way better then driving. AKL is wonderful, but doesn't make sense for an MK only trip.
