Children and adults under 21 are welcome in Trader Sam's until 8pm, after which all patrons are to be 21 and over. No one cards you as you enter, and families often wander in after 8pm not knowing any better. The cast members will politely inform the party that guests under 21 are welcome to sit on the patio. Sometimes, if the bar is filled to capacity, a cast member will be at the door allowing people in only as others leave, in which case that cast member will inform parties with children of the 21+ policy. The Disney carding policy is to card anyone ordering alcohol who appears under the age of 35. Before 8pm, the Sam's bartenders will only card people ordering alcohol. After 8pm, they tend to card more vigorously before guests order a drink in order to maintain the 21+ policy.
Also, even if it is before 8pm, children are not permitted to sit at the bar. Parties with children will have to sit at one of the tables. This is a general policy at all bars and not just a Trader Sam's policy.

There must be so much that I should have said, but haven't. What I will say now is just what most of us are probably thinking every day. I thank God and America for the right to live and raise my family under the flag of tolerance, democracy and freedom.

I am so anxious to try this! I think my kids will love to look around and the menu looks good too. I miss the Adventurer's Club so this will be the next best thing!

I take my little one each time we go (making "you have a baby...in a bar" jokes to myself heh) and it's fine during the day. Be sure to try the green beans. Soo good. Oh and my fave drink is the non-alcoholic Schweitzer Falls (named after famed explorer D. Albert Falls.)

Love the Sweet Home Alabama baby/bar line!
We did go and we took DS13. We sat on the deck and he had a Schweitzer Falls and loved it. We did go inside to see the tiki bar first, but sat outside because the weather was gorgeous when we went (march 1) |

This was my highlight of the Disneyland hotel our past stay. I loved the music outdoors in the evening and our daughter, age 3, loved it as well (until 8pm) The CMs made it fun for her.
I would visit Trader Sams even if we were not staying at the hotel next visit. So relaxing and enjoyable

We had a great time at Trader Sam's when we went a couple of weeks ago. We took our boys (5 and 1) on a Saturday evening at 5 or so, and we were more than welcome. We had a table inside. My kids loved the enchanted tikis and loved it when people would order krakatoas. Highly recommend!

Thank you everyone for sharing! We are going to DL in November. Looking forward to taking our boys (10 and 8). My 10 yr old loves Tikis.
