I really get annoyed when they say something to the effect, well the entire ride is dark ... yes it is, but I am not walking in the ride, I will be seated. duhhhhh Once I am seated my eyes will automatically go to where the most light is for me to see what I can see in the attraction.. but they don't care to understand this. I only pray that someday they don't have to experience what those of us with low vision have to deal with..
A key tenet of customer service, anywhere not just at Disney, is that from the customers perspective it is the first time the question has been asked. The customer does not know that 200 people before have asked the same question. Or given the CM a hard time. The customer is simply asking a question or telling a need and expect that the CM will answer the question the same way, each and every time, not with exasperation, not with an attitude.

On the other hand, I do try to remember that I might be 1 of 200 people who have told or asked a CM something similar that day, and 1 of thousands who have asked a CM the same thing, day after day after day in his or her job. It gets old from the CM point of view.

so a little empathy on both sides goes a long way. Sometimes I'll say something like, "I'm sure you get this question all the time..." or "I'm sure I'm not the first to request this, ...." And I do find that if I'm as specific as possible - and I know we all hate divulging private info that is no one's business - but sometimes that's what it takes, just a very specific indication of why option 2 works better than option 1. "that table with the light works because....."

The only place that really has never listened or heard me the first time has been the HM It is there that I must put my foot down. The last time visiting the world, I actually skipped the HM totally as I didn't want to deal with the CM's and their nonsense.
Some other attractions have offered for me to use the alternate when they see me holding onto the railing and walking very slow (like in Nemo, they actually told me about the other entrance to use). Most restaurants if alone, I usually just say "I know this may sound crazy, but can you please seat me where ever you have the most lighting" and I get it. If I am not alone, I don't ask, I just have who ever I am with help me read the menu and check my bill
