Walmart price matching

Does Walmart price match email ads or print ads only? I have a TRU email ad with 50% off Barbie stuff. I just put the Barbie Townhouse on layaway at TRU but if I can get it cheaper at Walmart through price match, I'll get one there and cancel the one at TRU.

If the ad has a price they will match. If it says 50% they won't.

Walmart will only match print ads. You have to have the physical ad in your hand and as the previous poster stated, they will not match "% off" or "$$ off", only a specified price.

"We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad."

That being said, it doesn't really matter what the policy is. When it comes to Walmart it depends on how the cashier is "feeling" that day.

That is awesome, they must have recently changed their policy. Yay!

We live in Wisconsin on the Minnesota border and our Walmart refuses to price match for Minnesota stores - all of our newspapers come from the twin cities in Minnesota so I'm usually out of luck in price matching.

What this means at my store is that if they don't have that ad already to verify the price they won't PM it. It's really helpful to have the ad with you, just in case they don't have the TRU ad. My store usually has the grocery ads at the registers if the cashier feels like double checking a price I state (and they have) but they wouldn't have TRU's ad I don't think. And I agree with a pp, they wouldn't PM 50% off, it has to be a price.

Wow, at our Walmart they don't even question when you say somethign is a certain price somewhere else they just ring it in at the price you tell them.

A few months ago, I got a "chatty" cashier at Walmart. I was price matching a few grocery items, and asked her if she needed to see the ad. She replied, "No, I'm not allowed to ask a customer for the ad unless I think she is being untruthful about the price." I laughed and said, "So, if I tell you that Shop n' Save has t-bones steaks for $1.99 per lb, you'd ask me for the ad, right?" She laughed and said that was how it worked.

To the OP, Walmart won't price match a percentage off or BOGO free sales. Because for example, TRU might originally charge $30 for the same Barbie that Walmart only charges $25 for.

I always brought the ads with me on Black Friday and had really good luck doing my toy shopping all at once. I'm glad this year I don't have much to do and probably won't do BF. Glad I got the Barbie house at a really good price as now TRU is BOGO 50% off Barbie this week.
