It's fairly small-- only about 20 gates-- and extremely easy to get around in. Here's a map:

We always fly into John Wayne as well. It's actually the most pleasant airport I visit! It's nice and quiet, but busy enough to have conveniences there.

Really not looking forward to not having Magical Express service to the parks. How complicated is it getting around LAX and getting transportation to your hotel? Are there specific Disney coaches and what do they cost?

We just finished up our vacation in November. We arrived at LAX and when we flew back we flew out of JWA. Yes, LAX was much busier but it was still quite easy to navigate, find your luggage and get transportation. We used the Disneyland Resort Express bus which is operated by Grayline. It was pretty simple and painless.

We prepaid for ours at GetAwayToday.com

You're in NY - consider Jet Blue in to LGB, I love that little airport, cannot stand LAX.

We usually go to Orlando thru Philly. I figure if we can get through navigating the Philly airport, LAX should be fine.
