Window insulator kit help

Last year we put one of those plastic window covers over one of our old windows to keep the cold air out. I used the double sided tape on a regular sized window and it worked great. We have an extra large front window (so large we need 4 curtain sections to cover it) and the double sided tape wasn't strong enough to hold that amount of plastic so it would just fall down. Does anyone have any suggestions for super duper double sided tape or another suggestion? This window is really old and we can feel a breeze through it!

did you only use one strip of tape? Run two or three parallel strips of tape on each side.

At least 2 or 3, maybe more.

Thanks I will try adding more strips! I think the other problem it had was that the actual tape was coming off the wall because we have textured paint on our walls, so it was having trouble sticking to that. Maybe we need to sand it down. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to keep that cold out and our heating bill down!
