You guys are aswome!! I have great ideas now! I like the idea of a tour so I will have to look into that, since the bike tours out, I cant ride one with my knee. Also thanks for the firehouse reccomendations. When we went to Washigtion DC we ran all over heck looking for a firestation with nice firefighters, ended up at 2!!!

What an awesome thread! It's so good I have to resurrect it.
I love the idea of using your local museum annual pass to see if you can get into the Art Institute or other big name places.Resurrecting it to add another resource. I found this site helpful when we visted Chicago recently. A couple outlined all their expenses and what sites they saw. Super helpful with planning! www.cheapchicagovacation.com This couple managed to stay downtown, and ended up doing the chicago pass. Many times the free days are really crowded. So it could work if you don't mind waiting in lines. Summer can be especially busy and you have line skipping privileges with the city pass. We appreciated the advice and ended up doing the City Pass too and had a great experience.
