BEWARE: Scam text for Target going around again!

DH got the text earlier today saying he won a $1000 and that he had 24 hrs to claim prize. We knew better than to fall for it.
These are scams trying to get you personnel and financial info.

I got one yesterday, a text from Target. It took me about 6 seconds to do a quick web search which told me what I had already suspected - that it was a scam.

I feel bad for those that fall for things like this, but honestly, how could you NOT suspect it a scam and then find out for sure?

I guess with things the way it is now some may fall for it because they desperately want to be able to buy Christmas gifts for their children. This is what the scum bags are hoping for. So sad.

I don't. If you don't know its a bad idea to give out any personal/financial info then I kind of think you get what you deserved if you get scammed.

Sometimes people are just very trusting. I know my Mum who usually was pretty good failed one time and got caught. I also had a friend whos husband had died just before she got the message from Windows that there was a big problem with her computer. Her husband had been an IT guy so she knew nothing about computers except turn it on and get e-mails. They had her so scared so she started to do what they said. At some point though she was so confused she told them that she had to go. She called my husband but it was too late. It took a lot to get things back and for things to clear up.

You're all heart

Lots of elderly people fall for scams. I could also see people like my older brother who is mentally challenged falling for it.
