Best Filet In The Area?

We normally have dinner at CA Grill & Le Cellier, but the last time we were at CA Grill it was "OK", not over the top & we can't get ressies at Le Cellier. Any recommendations for the Best Filet either off/on grounds (we have a car)? We are celebrating our 10th Anniversary and both of us really like steak. We are going 12/9. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Penny

Can't remember if it was filet, but my husband had the most amazing steak at Flying Fish..that was the best meal of our trip last October.

This place is not on property but we have eaten there a few times both on vacation and business trips. They use aged beef and grill with orange wood so it's a nice flavor

We enjoy the Yachtsman's Steakhouse.

Have you ever tried Victoria & Albert's? Not a steakhouse but a fantastic experience.

One of these are the very best - I just can't decide which! First has multiple locations: Charleys Steakhouse Excellent is all I can say. Never had a bad meal there. The filet is just perfect.

Yet there is a stand alone steak house that has aged steaks and a filet I'll never forget Del Frisco's The sides are a meal in themselves and then a perfect filet to top it off!

Sorry, you'll just have to try both and decide which really is number one. I'm just going back to both and eventually I'll decide who wins!

If you want to stay on property then what about Shula's in the Dolphin.

It is far superior to any steaks on property IMO.
They do not need to cut corners to support the DDP.

It you want to travel off property then Capitol Grille is my recommendation, but not worth the trip when you can go to Shula's.

Yachtsman's Steakhouse is OK if you are on the DDP, but not even close to Shula's quality and service.

You may want to ask this on the restaurant board, but I assume everyone will say Shula's or Yachtsman.

Yachtsman has nice choice steaks, but Shula's is the real deal aged quality beef.
Prices are about the same (actually I think Shula’s is a far better value).
An 8oz Filet at Yachtsman is about $39.
An 12oz at Shula’s is about $43.

Another plus for Shula’s is that it will most likely not have many children, if any.
Any DDP location will have many families and children that are worn out from the parks all day.
Something you may not want to deal with for an anniversary dinner.

Our 10th anniversary dinner was at the Yachtsman (18months ago). It had been recommended to us and I read it had a dress code, so we thought it would be appropriate for our 10th anniversary. The food and service was nice. We were given a personalized menu and I had pre-ordered a cake. However I was disappointed that the dress code was not in force - we felt over dressed there! (Didn't let it spoil our evening though). After, we had an EPCOT fireworks cruise booked from the marina there (took our own champagne and glasses with us)

For good steaks, Charleys has been consistent for us. Key W Kools on 192 is also good. Longhorn Steak was also OK (but for the quality of the steaks Charley's would be my choice)

I have also had recommendations for Manny's Chop House (good food, casual atmosphere) on the 27; Bonefish Grill http://www.bonefishgrill.com/todays-...d-specialties/ and (not really a traditional steakhouse) Texas De Brazil.

HTH

Have a wonderful anniversary!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think we are going to go out twice (this is my second marriage and 10 wonderful years is something to celebrate big ).

We are only going down because of DizAPalooza and since it is a last minute trip, we aren't going to find reseravations on property so we will venture off and see what we discover.

I am bookmarking all of the menus from off grounds places you mention so again, I thank you. Penny

Capital Grille or Del Frisco's both fantastic!! I wasn't thinking off the DDP...also, I have not been to the Capital Grille of Del Frisco's in FL....might have to fix that

They say the recipe for Sprite is lemon and lime, but I tried to make it at home....There's more to it than that!

The "Fabulous Filet" at Charley's can not be beat. However I would be sure to to go the original location on 17-92 by the Florida Mall. The other locations, while they share a name, do not prepare the steaks the same way, and I have always been disappointed. The location on 17-92 can't be beat!

Wow, I am surprised no one in the Orlando area posted Morton's of Chicago in the Sand Lake area. http://www.mortons.com/

I have been to Charley's as well. Both are great choices, but I feel that Morton's is definitely more intimate. Call ahead for reservations.

Here's another vote for the original location of Charley's. Haven't been there in a few years, but the steak was fantastic.
