42 inches was the requirement during our Aug Dream cruise. We barely made that!!

I can tell you that I hung on to my dd for dear life as we spun. Don't get me wrong, we both loved it but I still hung on to her for dear life!!

And to the OP who asked about being pregnant: i can tell you that my back nearly cracked in two when we hit some of those bumps!! There wasn't enough air in the boat and we hit those hard bumps fast and hard!! My whole body jerked and there's a reason that you shouldn't ride. Your body takes a beating!

Another reason for pregnant women to avoid the AquaDuck is the long climb up the stairs to the top. I can't remember the exact number of steps to walk up, but it was something like 75 or 80? There is no elevator.

Whatever the actual total, it's a very long way up. Of course, you could walk up a flight or 2, & then rest for awhile before starting the next flight. On busy days with really long lines, you can only move up a step or 2 at a time.

The original height requirement was 48". Both photos are old. The properties for the photo said to be "updated" list it with a date of January 2011 on the Dream. It was changed to 42" soon after the Dream launched.

Well, my wee peanut was measured DAILY for weeks before our cruise. She FINALLY hit 42" and she was so happy, as was I.

So it's the first thing we do after we eat lunch at Cabanas: go to ride the AquaDuck. She stands up to the measuring stick and I'm not worried because I know she's 42 " exactly!!! But her head does not touch the top of the marker board and the CM says she can't ride. Oh man!!

So we did what the mom ahead of us did. We went back for the water shoes (which should have been in my day bag coz the decks were HOT HOT HOT in August). Those water shoes moved her up to the height marker perfectly. I think disney needs to measure more carefully what 42" looks like. . With a new CM, she got her bracelet and off we went!!

Bring tight fitting water shoes!! Not sandals as they make you take those off.

Have fun!!! And watch your back.

I don't know what I was thinking. For some reason when I looked at the second picture the "8" looked like a "2". Sorry to upset people for no reason. I deleted that second picture.

No problem. I figured it had been posted in a recent thread and there was a misunderstanding.
