I had 17 teeth pulled a few years ago, incl. 4 wisdom teeth.
Fully asleep though at the hospital.

1,5 years later my teeth needed to be cleaned, and taken care off, and they did that using an IV, which would knock me out a little, they said I would still be awake, that if something would hurt I could still be able to say so.
Well, they knew I was troubles from the beginning and gave me enough through the IV to completely knock me out.

I woke up during though, I had to sneeze, lol.
They immidiatly putted some more into the IV and I was gone again in 5 seconds.

I'm scared to death for dentists, this IV thing helped a lot.
I did cry when they putted it in my arm, and kind of crushed my dad's hand, haha, but that's just all the stress coming out in tears really.
And you don't need to be put fully asleep in a hospital, you are still breathing on your own which is good, you don't feel anything.

I need to go and do it again, but I can't find the courage to pick up the phone and make the appointment :/

I'm not sure I would wanna use the laugh gas, does it knock you out too? Or do you pretty much just stay awake?

If you are really that scared, I'd ask about an IV.
It did wonders for me, and I know once I'll have the courage to make a new appointment for a treatment I'll be so happy it's over with again.

My 18 yr old just had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed under "light anesthesia" by a very experienced oral surgeon. At the end of the procedure she wouldn't wake up (breathing fine), needed ambulance ride to hospital and eventually woke up. I've spoken to anesthesiologists i know and they think this is crazy. You want someone present who frequently handles emergencies just in case.

Valium, local, all fine without anesthesiologist. After procedure lots of ice, pain medication and don't use straws as you want the clot to form.
Exactly why I don't want anesthesia. I am terrified of it. I cried for a whole week before my foot surgery because I was so scared, I knew I had no choice on that tho, it needed to be done. I am going to see if they soothe conscious sedation or laughing gas. Really don't want to be put to sleep.

I am glad your daughter is okay.

Maybe if you leave some chocolate under your pillow the Tag Fairy will visit you!
