Please tell me this is just a fluke and that prices will be down by the time I book. Please........
Have you checked southwest.com? You can book AirTran flights there and not pay baggage
fees.

Thank You everyone! I finally got all my tickets. I paid $188 for 4 and then $215 for the other ticket. It kept on saying only one left at $188, so I had to make 4 transactions over about 4 days. I just wish I would have purchased the tickets when they were $153.

I have another question:sad2:...Well actually a few quesitons

If your flight cost goes down, can you get a credit from Airtran?

If so, do you loose your seat assignment or have to pay another $6 to get the seat assignment back?

Also, can you use the credit on another flight or just luggage costs?

How many times will they let you do a cost adjustment?

Thanks for your help!

I don't think that is rolled out to all locations yet. We will be leaving from Chicago Midway and when I check southwest.com they do not show AirTran flights. I really hope they do soon, because ideally that would be the way we would like to go (best of both worlds).

Or am I just missing a button to show all AirTran flights also?

When I search BUF (currently Airtran and Southwest) and ROC (currently only Airtran), flights for both companies show up on the Southwest website.

I noticed the same thing this morning because I'm looking for airline tickets for my family of four in October. It was going to cost us almost $4000 round trip.

I just checked again today (same day in the evening) prices have dropped to $800 round trip for the four of us. But there is only one ticket available at this price.

UGHHHH!!!!!

Weekends usually are not a good time to look at prices. While it isn't always the case airlines have a tendency to raise prices over the weekend. I'd suggest looking a few times during the week for drops. Tuesday morning can be a good time.

As far as prices are concerned, I have noticed that they have gone up the last week or two, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it has something to do with the merger getting farther along? All I know is that I'm getting a little frustrated with my brother waiting to get our tickets. Our trip is in mid - June and the prices were better a few weeks ago. I just want him to make a decision and if we see the prices lowered, depending on SW or Air Tran, we can get a refund or credit for the difference!

Now if AT tickets start showing in southwest.com from midway and we can get them at the same price with free check-in all is forgiven!
