Annual Pass Discount with Magic Band

Does anyone know how the 10% merchandise discount for Annual Pass holders works with the Magic Band? Since the Annual Pass is linked to the Magic Band, I assume we can just use the Magic Band to get the discount, or do we still have to present the Annual Pass? Our Annual Passes are RFID enabled already, so I think the Magic Band should also work, but just wondered if anyone had experience yet.

People have reported you still have to present your AP to get the discount so far. But that could change in the next couple of months.

Discounts are not automatic. You will need to show the appropriate card (AP, DVC, TiW, etc) to get any applicable discount.

see this is why i think the magic bands are kinda useless. i still have to carry my season pass for proof. i need to carry my TIW card for proof. i still need to carry my DVC card for proof.

i thought the idea for the bands was to cut down on "stuff" carried. i'm still carrying the same amount of stuff though.

i mean they are cool and all but they don't make my day any quicker or easier to leave the room in the morning with everything.

I 100% agree with you all... I am NOT HAPPY that I also have to carry my pass around for discounts..I was looking forward to not bringing any of the cards into the parks...

At this time you have to present the AP to get the discount. Same with DVC membership card, AAA, Tables in Wonderland. It's still in testing phase so we don't know about the future.

At merchandise (and food) locations the registers are linked to the Resort computer system and not to the ticketing system. So the registers are able to see the billing information and not the ticketing.
