During pool rehab, Polynesian guests will have free admission to Blizzard Beach

The Volcano Pool is expected to be closed 7/26/2014-3/31/2015. Guests will receive free admission to Blizzard Beach while the pool is closed. The resort will be providing bus transportation to the water park. Polynesian guests can go to a dedicated check-in area and use their MagicBand or RFID card to check in. Guests will also receive complimentary towel rental and access to the beverage refill stations if they have a resort refillable mug. Guests will be notified of the pool closure and offer. Kona Island closed 8/8/2014- 9/30/2014

Are they providing any concession for the pain of no longer being able to enjoy the beautiful "ICONIC" lobby waterfall that is being removed?

Haven't heard of anything. Going to miss that garden/waterfall in the lobby.

Yes, they are giving you the option to not stay there.

I will never understand why people are paying money to stay in a construction site.

We stayed there in June and we did so because of the location. Transportation wise (at that time, anyway) we couldn't find a better resort for us. Always found the Contemporary too noisy and the GF we were priced out of.

Now, of course, with the pool being closed and Kona Island being closed, that's a whole different story.
