What room section to request at POR?

We are checking in this Saturday. Staying in one of the rooms that sleeps 5. Any particular rooms or sections that we should try to request? I realize that nothing is guaranteed but if certain rooms are better/closer, I would like to try to request that.

Alligator Bayou seems to be the best for proximity to the main building. We were lucky on a couple of our trips and received building 14 and 15, which is apparently preferred. We never need a close room, as we have our own transportation. The surprise short walk to the main building was pleasant after a long day at the parks.

We also like the Royal Oak Building Rooms. We didn't find it to be a long walk, others may differ. Although, they do not hold 5 people. Only 2 queen beds.

We were in AB garden view our last 2 trips...building 16 and 17 and both were great locations. Not preferred but still not a bad walk to the front of the resort, and the quiet pool was just a few steps away. I requested "close to South Depot-building 16 or 17" We also requested ground floor (got this both times) and corner room (got this one out of two). Loved it!

How do we make the request? Just call the reservations line and tell them?

Whatever you do.. do not request building 24 in Alligator Bayou! So far away from anything but the West Depot bus stop. We had no idea on our first stay at Riverside how big the resort really was until we got lost finding our room, a lot!

I would take a look at the map of the resort so you can see for yourself which one seems good for you. The have preferred rooms and those are the closest.

As a family of 5, you will definitely be in the Alligator Bayou section. I agree with PP - look at a map and see which building in AB seems to be in the best location for you. Buildings # 14, 15, 18 and 27 are preferred locations, so avoid requesting these four unless you've booked a preferred room.
