CSR, POFQ, or PORS need help deciding

We have stayed at CSR our last three visits. We like the PM, pool, and have never had a problem with the bussing. Usually we stay in the casitas and love being first ones on and off the bus. With that said, it seems like the rooms need an updates. For this trip we would like to try someplace different, at least we think so. lol

How is the bussing at either of the Port Orleans resorts?

Some of the pics of POFQ rooms look really bright.

How is the pool?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

We have stayed at POFQ once and POR twice. We have not had any problems with buses, but our recent trips have been off-season.

Overall we like POR the best, especially the AB section. The landscaping is amazing, food is great, Yehaw Bob, plus the boat to DTD!

We also like the offsite Bahama Bay resort. We get a nice large 2-3 bedroom, 2 bath condo with a kitchen for less than $100/night including all fees. Nice pools and grounds too.

I stay away from convention center resorts while on vacation. 35 years of Corporate people was more than enough for me.

Depends on what your priorities are...

CSR and POR are our favorite moderates. POFQ is only one we have not stayed in but have spent time wandering the resort and eating at the food court. I can't tell the ages of your kids so this would be just my/kids opinion.

POFQ is much smaller, small footprint and the offerings are smaller. No table service, mediocre food court, no quiet pools. It is a very quiet resort and in all my walking around I have rarely seen other people. Small and quiet is very appealing to many people. The plus is you can use everything next door at POR so you do have more options.

I love New Orleans French Quarter and I think they did a great job of replicating buildings, squares, green space and walkways. Most the buildings are painted very low key muted colors and it has that feel adult feel that the real Quarter does. The pool area, however, is very bright and colorful with fun props geared very much to young children. Even when my kids were young they said it wasn't something they wanted to go to - even when staying at POR and we could. So far the room pictures do not appeal to me, just too bland with the only color the purple bedspread - but with the new duvet styles being introduced that may be gone other than a runner. I am sure I will be staying there at some point, but I'd love for a room rehab before I go.

We've stayed at both POR and CSR. We found pros and cons to both. For frame of reference, at CSR we hated Pepper Market, loved the main pool, and loved the Casitas section also for the bus reason. At POR, we didn't care for the main pool, loved the food court, and thought the buses were hit or miss. We did love the boat to DTD, which is probably even more valuable now with the construction there.

We've visited POFQ twice and found it to be small and cluttered. It always felt busy because of how small it is, and their one bus stop always seemed to be packed. Same with their food court. We just weren't impressed.
