How is Boatwrights?

Wasn't really considering it even though we are staying at POR. But I just looked at their menu and it looks good. How is the food?

I highly recommend it, I just went a month ago and had a great braised short ribs and cheesy polenta. My folks have gone twice and also really like it. Give it a shot.

We go every time we stay at POR and we love the food. By the way my husband has food allergies and they have been great in serving him a wonderful and very large meal. He loves it there, the wheat free pasta is his favorite.

My mom and I enjoyed our meal. She ate had the gumbo (thumbs up) and I had the Étouffée. Lots of rice in that dish, but the crawfish part filled me up. The cornbread was tasty, too.

Our Ratings of Boatwrights: (*rev 2/10/2014*)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: D
. . . food quantity per serving: B
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: C
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: C
. . . staff attentiveness: C
. . . character interaction: n/a

NOTE: Boatwrights used to get good reviews, but over the past two years has
really gone down hill in the food quality department. In our opinion, it is below
avg. The Prime Rib and VooDoo Chicken were both voo-doo-hoo-doo. We did
enjoy the Blackened Fish. The steaks are average in quality, but tasty ONLY
because of the amount of added sodium. For dessert, the Banana Foster Angel
Food Cake was heavenly. Yes, it is convenient for the resort guests, but not
very highly recommended. If staying at POR, we recommend walking to POFQ for
the food court.

Blackened Fish?

I'd love to read some recent reviews. We are hoping to rest up at the resort one afternoon and have dinner there before heading out to the park again.

What kind of fish has been served before for the blackened entree? How's the andouille crusted catfish?

Also trying to decide if we are doing dining plan. Are the sides included? I could eat a whole plate of greens with some Louisiana hot sauce!!!

Go slower, relax, take a break, have an excuse to come back. Don't miss - Dapper Dans (MK), Flights of Wonder (AK), Fantasmic (HS), Mo-Rockin' (Epcot).

I have an ADR at Boatwright's for our trip in October---we have never eaten there but DH and DD are longing for some Louisiana food. We moved away after living there ten years, and DH was excited to hear there is a New Orleans-cuisine-themed restaurant at Disney.

Another plus for us when weighing this against T-Rex in DTD is how much quieter (?) Boatwright's should be. It will be our last dinner at Disney at the end of my in-laws' first Disney trip ever. I thought lower noise might be more relaxing.

Is it a little quieter than some of the faster-paced restaurants? My kids are older so while we aren't looking for character experiences everywhere, I was torn because I know my son and daughter would love T-Rex. Everything I read said it is LOUD.

Went to Boatwrights in November for our anniversary, and loved it. The crawfish bites were delicious, DH had the NY strip, and I had the Pasta Bouillabaisse. It was amazing, definitely filling, and definitely would visit again.

The food was nice, however our service was terrible. Because of that, I think it will be quite some time before I eat here again.

We used to never miss Boatwrights for a dinner on every trip.
Lately however we have been skipping sadly. Food has gone downhill and prices have gone way up.
I remember when the Prime rib was about $19 -$20 , now its up to $32.
It is a nice comfortable place to have a meal though ...........

This was one of our best meals during our last trip. I thought the service was excellent.

I think if you read enough reviews you are going to find positives and negatives on almost every restaurant in DW. I suppose they have good days and bad days just like restaurants outside the world.
