Last minute cruises

I'm debating a Disney cruise vs Royal Carribbean. My only other experience was on NCL and was turned off. I swore the next time I got to take a cruise it would be Disney. However I'm struggling justifying the Disney pricing vs RCL. I can either do a disney cruise and come home or I could take our family on RCL and a wdw trip while were are there. So I'm contemplating a last minute cruise for a cheaper price, has anyone done this? Do you know about how long they wait before advertising the last minute rates? I would need to be prepared to add airfare. Any help would be appreciated.

You should start looking at the 74 day mark. IF there are any *GT rates, they usually appear after the PIF date.
