Departure day

any ideas on what to do on departure day. After we leave the ship our flight home is not until 19:30 and the bus will take us back to the airport?

Thanks all

You have a few choices:

1) Get a day room at the Hyatt MCO. Good for re-grouping, resting, getting a little nap (it's an early morning that morning).

2) Rent a car once at the airport, go to Downtown Disney and spend the day.

3) Cancel DCL bus transfers and rent a car at Port Canaveral, visit Kennedy Space Center, Downtown Disney, or spend the day at the beach.

You might consider getting a day room at the airport Hyatt. This allows you to stay up late the last night on the ship, get up early to disembark, and then rest/nap/sleep at the airport before your flight.

Thanks for all the ideas like them all,

Had looked at hiring a car from the port and dropping off at the airport and seemed very expensive tho. Just looked at hiring from the airport for about 6 hours and looks a good price.

Any idea what time we would arrive at the airport?

Thanks again every one such a good help.

I would rent a car at the port. You can cancel the Disney transfers so you'll have that money to put toward a rental. I can't imagine a rental from the port being more expensive than the DCL bus transfers plus a rental from the airport.

We have always been able to get great rates for rentals from the port. Check every agency in the port area (Avis, Budget, National, Alamo, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar, etc.) and do Google searches for discount codes.

$35 per person one way, $70 per person round trip.

Thanks again every one for all your help

If the car rental price is $30 how much extra do you need to pay. this might sound a silly question but we have never hired a car before.

Every agenciy's charges are a bit different. Continue through the booking process. The full price will be shown before you officially book the car.

For a $30 rental you shouldn't pay more than $50 unless a one-way fee is charged. As far as I know, only Thrifty and Dollar charge a one-way fee.

We have always rented from Hertz. They have a shuttle which picks you up right off the ship and takes you to the rental lot. The drive to Kennedy Space Center is pretty easy, as is the drive to the Orlando Airport.

Good luck!

All of the area rental offices have shuttles to/from the cruise terminals so I'd go with the company that gives you the best price. Hertz is the closest to the terminal, but all of them are within a couple of miles so it's not far to any of them.
