Wonderful line up!

Alaska is on my bucket list. I had planned on 2015 but that has changed.

Our luggage was outside of our room so after lugging it in and snapping some pics, Pam left to check out her room and I unpacked. Joshua chilled on the verandah and was so happy with his surroundings.

I had packed three large suitcases but one was filled with FE gifts. I couldn't believe how much room there was for unpacking. It was unreal. The small space is deceiving and maybe it's because there was just the two of us but we had more than enough room for our stuff. I took the trunk like thing for my folding clothes and Joshua took the drawers. We shared the hangers in the closet and still had enough room for a dirty clothes area and to store our suitcases in the closet (standing up/side by side). I am a total unpacker and it felt good to be home. Try as I might to pack lightly, I failed miserably.

I made another quick call to Michael and the girls. My mommy guilt was still there but dissipating.

Our cruise group had planned a meet at the Promenade Lounge at 2:45. Jeff, our fearless organizer, had lime green bands made up for the first 300 people. We had a really fun and active meet thread and FB group prior to the cruise. I was especially excited to meet Pam (which we had), Jennifer, Amy, and Beth.

We showed up at 2:45 and Jeff was there with his family handing out bracelets. I did get to meet all the ladies I wanted too (plus Chase and Carroll, Beth and Jennifer's husbands). We didn't have drinks or food and it was quick and casual. I like meets but they feel semi-forced and I prefer a more natural setting to get to know people. Thankfully I would get to spend more time with these ladies during the trip. What a truly cool bunch of people. It was also fun to see people we *knew* throughout the cruise and chat.

Joshua was happy to see his pal Pam and we took off to check out the Edge, the spa, and Route 66.

First stop, pic with Ariel. Had to get this while no one was around:

How cute is this carpet pattern? I was floored by the attention to detail.

For any of you that read my pre-trip report or chatted with me pre cruise, you know I had reservations regarding Joshua's reaction to the kids' clubs. My concerns were founded but also fleeting (after two days).

We went to the Edge, I registered Joshua, and we checked it out. Looked pretty cool to me. The Navigator was pretty chock full of fun things to do at all of the clubs. I don't have another cruise line to compare it to but Disney keeps the kids busy.

Here's a pic of the daily board and the Edge activities:

And a few from around the club. A shout out to my girls and their boys:

The Edge had various Wiis and Xboxes and a PS3, lots of places to sit and just chill too. It was decorated cute.

After a brief look at the Edge, it was onto Route 66 which includes Diversions, Wavebands, and the Cadillac Lounge. Love the decor and it so reminded me of Carsland at Disneyland.

Continued from the previous post......

My not shy child decided it would be fun to twerk onstage. Super proud parent moment right there.

We couldn't get enough of the uber cool port holes all over the ship:

One day.....

Diversions where they'd hold the DVC meetings:

And a quick peek at the Walt Disney Theater:

Joshua wanted to check out the lifeboats (too much Titanic):

Amazing details:

Studio Sea:

Window shopping. Could these be any cuter????

After touring around on our own, Pam and I wanted to check out the spa. I had pre-purchased a one day Rainforest Pass and Pam was interested in spa treatments. Most of my pics came out too dark to post but Pam has lots.

The gym in which I had no intention of using but wish I had the motivation:

The view from these machines isn't too shabby:

Back to the spa. Couple's massage room. Isn't it lovely?

Gorgeous tile:

I'm going to pause here and allow Pam to chime in and post her pics.

To be continued.......

They did? We're you upset? Did they decrease the price? We got a decent discount when they canceled our original cruise for the charter. Hope you got some sort of incentive.

Sounds like a good start! My boys were very funny about the kids clubs and it never got better during the cruise. I'm hoping we'll have more success the next time around.

Amanda

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Joshua liked them once he made friends but not before. There were some bigger boys that sort of hogged everything and took over. I understand the CMs not interfering as its the natural pecking order but it just wasn't Joshua's cup of tea. He made a gaggle of cute girl friends and they went all over the ship together, in and out of the Edge and Oceaneers Club, playing soccer and ping pong. They had so much fun together.

And here I thought twerking was the thing with the tongue. Guess when you don't have teens you miss that nuance.

You folks got all over the ship quickly! Nice pictures Pam! I can't wait to be back on the Wonder. She feels like home to me.

Ok, that's funny! You're not missing anything but glad we could educate.

We did! It didn't feel like we were moving any faster than normal but we checked out a lot. I agree, Pam's pics are awesome!

We weren't at the meet more than 10-15 minutes I think.
