Tell me all about AK TS Restaurants at park close

I'm wondering about making an ADR for a TS Restaurant at Park Close (in our case 6:00 pm). The thought of exiting the restaurant to a dark empty park sounds super interesting, and the last hour of the park opening is always pretty quiet.

How late can I possibly make an ADR? (My family are the type who like to ride EE over and over again at park close!)

For those who have been to Tusker House, is the buffet tired and picked over?

Are you rushed out?

Are the shops open late at AK?

Will there be Photopass photographers still hanging around?

Will we be able to take a bus back to our resort if we linger late?

Thanks!

The last reservation time will vary with the restaurant and the day/season, but in most cases it is around park closing. You can go to the res page and put in your desired time and date to see what comes up.

You won't be rushed through your meal, but once you are finished you'll be directed towards the exit. You won't be able to wander around the park or head towards the back.

I can't remember how late the stores remain open, but it wasn't like the shops on Main Street in the MK, so if your dinner res is at park closing they won't be open when you are finished.

As far as getting back to your resort, Disney won't strand you. If you are very late, bus lines will probably be consolidated, but a CM will direct you to the correct bus. If you are very, very late you might have to take a bus to DTD where you can transfer to a resort bus because DTD buses run until well past midnight. Or you could take a taxi from the park.

We ate at Yak and Yeti for the last reside which was 15 mins prior to park closing, they did not rush us through our dinner at all. They do direct you out of the park when you exit the restaurant but we were not rushed and were allowed to stop for pics along the way out. In no way did we feel rushed and it was very cool leaving AK at sunset, we got some amazing pics with the tree of life with no one in the background, no Photopass photographers around though.

. . . Tusker takes ressies 1/2-hour AFTER normal park closing times.
. . . But, if park is open until 9:00pm, Tusker stops ressies at 9:00pm.

When you say they "direct" you out... does someone walk out with you? Or are you just shooed out by the staff that are there I'm glad to hear we could take a few pics.

Rusty... on MDE, if I look 180-ish days out from today, it looks like I can't make a res. after 6:50 for a 7:00 pm close - can I get a later reservation if I call at my 180+10 day mark? Are these types of reservations similar to getting an 8:00AM Crystal Palace (like you have to be right on the ball?)

Thanks! We aren't going ti'll August, but I want to get some firm dining plans before my 180-day mark. I really appreciate the feedback

No one will walk you out, but you might encounter ropes and/or CMs at splits in the walkways that will show you which way to go.

Yes there were ropes blocking the way and CMs all the way along, not rushing you, just so you don't go under the ropes blocking off the closed sections of the park.
