Disney transfers frm port to wdw resort question

We are sailing in a few days and have bought disney transfers back to resort from ship. Should we have gotten anything like luggage tags or a bar coded voucher similar to magical express gives? I verified on disney cruise website that the transfers have been purchased. Just a note that we added the transfers after the original booking and PIF was complete.

Will they give something on the ship to get on bus after debarking? What has been your experience? We are leaving port canaveral if that matters

Thanks !

Thanks !

You will be carrying your bags off of the ship, and will therefore be carrying them to the bus you are on. You will need some type off proof that you have paid for the transfers to get on the bus but I do not remember when you will get that.

It should be in with your cruise documents (the little booklet they sent to you).

This is not entirely correct.

You can have DCL take your bags off the ship for you by leaving your bags outside in the hall the previous night. You will have to claim your bags in the morning in the luggage hall and bring them through customs with you and then out to the bus.

You don't have to carry them off the ship yourself (which could be very difficult navigating around the ship the last morning). You certainly could carry them off yourself but it is a pain. Much easier for DCL to schlep them off and then claim them in the luggage hall.

There is no automatic luggage service back to the resort so no need for transfer luggage tags. Your KTTW card should already be coded with your transfers back to the resort.

You will receive DCL luggage tags in your cabin to place on your luggage to be taken off the ship. Luggage is put in the hallway on the last night and taken off and sorted by character, deck and color. Clear markings are in the luggage hall to make it easy to find your luggage.

Your luggage will travel under the bus you take back to the resort.

Off subject a bit, but how long from the time you get off the ship, to do customs, get on bus to get to WDW resort? Thanks.

Part of it depends on how long it takes you to locate your luggage inside the terminal.

We've gone through customs in 5 mins or less. YMMV.

The buses leave as they fill up. You might be the first one on a bus and have to wait longer than the last ones to board.

The drive from the port to WDW takes about an hour. Some buses will stop at more than one resort.

And sometimes its not a bus. We were put into a tiny shuttle van that was full to the brim. No movie or music, and a veeeeery slow driver.

When you check in at the cruise desk they should give you the paperwork for the trip back. As far as time, we have done it a few times and it can vary greatly. As others said, they wait until the bus is full. Each bus goes to certain resort areas and seems to be predetermined. One time our bus stopped at every value resort two of the vacation clubs and all of the MK area resorts before we were dropped off. The other time we had only 4 stops total and was very efficient. We have been dropped off at BLT, OKW, and WL. It varied from 2-3 hours total from boat to hotel. Biggest tip make sure you can easily locate your luggage as that is the biggest time eater. The faster you get your luggage you can get into customs line which can be long. If you have blue black or red it is very hard. My daughter has ll bean hawaii floral and we could spot it from far away. Think hundreds of luggage stacked in rows and on shelves. I think it really varies with the crowd levels returning to resorts. Feb vacation seems to be the worst for time. My guess is everyone only has the one week and goes directly home vs summer when the bus filled faster and less stops.
