BLT Studio vs WL Standard room

I'm traveling with my husband, 2yr old and 4yr old this may. We've already stayed at WL so familiar with the resort layout, amenities, and room. I'm considering trying BLT. Unfortunately it would be about $600-700 more for 5nights. Would a studio with a daybed be comfortable for a family of 4? What amenities would we have access to at BLT that are only for that bldg? Separate pool than CR? Do they have any food options at BLT or do you need to go to main tower for everything? Is it worth it to stay there?

I'm not aware of any daybeds at BLT..it's a queen bed and a sofa bed. Not room for much else, that's for sure. All amenities are over at the CR tower. There is a pool just for BLT guests, that has some quick food/drink options. But, other than that, you have to go to the CR to eat and shop.

My family (DH, DD7, and DS4) stayed at BLT last summer. We loved it! The location can't be beat. It's a short walk across the sky bridge to CR for shopping and restaurants. Be aware that BLT studios are smaller than any other DVC studios. However, we had no problems fitting all our stuff and I travel with lots of stuff! There wasn't a daybed when we were there. It was a queen bed and pullout couch. Studios also have a kitchenette. As for pools, you can swim at BLT or CR. There is a fun splash area for kids at BLT and my kids really enjoyed the slide.

I meant to say pull-out sofa, not daybed.
I found the rooms at WL to be very small. Does anyone know if the blt studio is smaller?

According to allears.net BLT studios are 300 square feet and a standard room at WL is 340 square feet.

A studio at VWL is 356 square feet and a 1BR is 727. Again according to allears. Maybe those would be better options.

With regard to room size and comfort, I would go with a standard room at the WL-- bigger room and your kids can sleep in a real bed as opposed to a sofa bed. If, however, you are willing to forego extra room space/comfort for the BLT location and views, then that is a different story..

Have you considered a GW room at the CR? Much bigger than either a BLT studio or WL regular room with pretty much just as good a location as BLT. Not sure what the cost difference would be, though. Also- are you getting your BLT price quote from Disney's rack rates or a rental quote? The latter is always much less expensive.

Let me start off saying we own at BLT. We LOVE BLT. Before becoming DVC back on '04 we were CR people.

Honestly, when comparing a BLT STUDIO vs. WL, I'd do WL.

The BLT studios are soooo small

Don't mind them when it's just DH & I for a long weekend but other than that... Now factor in you have a family of 4. NO WAY! A regular CR room, yes, in a heartbeat but not a BLT studio.
