You can do that with Xbox and Playstation 3 versions of the game. They have been posting downloadable Toy Boxes since the game's release which are available free. One is a rough model of Disneyland. There are dozens available now...all free.

Unfortunately it's my understanding that the Wii's online shop wasn't capable of similar download functionality. Too bad.

Overall Infinity is something of a mixed bag to me. The Power Disc implementation is severely lacking. Of all the discs that are out now, my kids are only interested in maybe 8-10. Others just sit in the folder and will rarely get any use.

Characters which can only be used in the Toy Box mode are pretty much worthless. I understand why designers wanted to limit each playset to just its native characters, but there's not a whole lot to do with figures who don't have a playset. My kids got Ralph and Vanelope for Christmas. After 10 minutes of running around in Toy Box mode, the novelty had worn off.

If they make a Disney Infinity 2, I hope there is at least one playset where EVERY character can be used. The setting doesn't really matter.

I also hope they make all of the current figures backward-compatible with an Infinity 2 game. Skylanders does this.

Honestly I'll be very, very surprised if there isn't a follow-up game. There were reports that Disney spent $100 million developing Infinity. And most of the work is already behind them. In order to make Infinity 2, they can re-use the same base game engine. Just need to apply a few tweaks and build new Playsets.

Most of my local stores (TRU, Walmart, Target) saw their Infinity stock dwindling throughout the holiday season.

But again, I hope they reward folks who spent literally hundreds of dollars on Infinity 1 by allowing most--if not all--of the discs and figures to be used in an Infinity 2.

I wish you could use all characters in any play set. I actually like the game, just bummed they haven't released classic characters.

I love the game. The playsets are the best parts and the toy box is great in theory but you need a ton of time to develop. I wish more than two players could play at once.

~Nintendo's online gaming aspect is so disappointing it's not worth mentioning. I am glad to hear the experience is much better on the other gaming platforms.

~Unfortunately, I'm not in the market for a Playstation or Xbox because most of their games don't appeal to me. I love the cute & fun stuff, lol. My favorite video game ever is Kirby Epic Yarn. Awww, it's just too cute!

~Anyway, Disney Infinity is so much work on the Wii U. I don't like it. This game could have been so much better, imo. Epic Mickey 2 was also a disappointment for us, but I loved the little towns and the open play aspect. I thought the Disney Infinity play sets would at least, offer this kind of setting.

~But, I totally agree with you. Disney needs to come out with Infinity 2 and more complete play sets. Also, the split screen for two player needs to go!

With Disney's Frozen having crossed the $500 million milestone, Disney Interactive is getting in on the fun by offering Disney Infinity players a set of all new Toy Boxes that "celebrate the coolest film of 2013."

"Players were asked to use elements from their Frozen Toy Box Pack to create original Frozen-themed Toy Boxes," Disney Interactive wrote. "This week’s winning submissions lets players relive familiar moments from Frozen, race on a chilly track and experience new adventures set within Arendelle. The top global Toy Box of the week is “Frozen Hunt“ – where players are challenged to find and activate four different buttons that will help build out a giant version of everyone’s favorite snowman – Olaf."

Without further adieu, here are the five "Frozen Toy Box Challenge winners," which are available in-game now.
  • Frozen Hunt - Do you want to build a Snowman? Find and step on 4 buttons hidden around Arendelle to do just that. Watch out for thin ice!
  • Frozen Adventure - Experience an interactive adventure from various scenes of Disney’s Frozen movie.
  • Anna’s Quest - Arendelle has frozen solid! Go to the mountains and bring Elsa back to her throne so she can undo the spell.
  • Let it Go! - It’s the anniversary of Queen Elsa’s coronation, but she’s missing and Weselton thugs are causing a ruckus. Help!
  • Olaf’s Race - Zoom around a racetrack featuring everybody’s favorite snowman, Olaf.

you need to either go to the infinity website and create an account then link it in the game OR use your Disney website (MDE) account. Once you have linked an Infinity account to your game you can go to Disney Shares and download toy boxes. If you have a MB you can put it on the base supposedly and it will unlock additional content as well.

I got Disney Infinity for my husband for Christmas. I wasn't sure if he'd like it. He has a PS3 and Wii which he actually doesn't play that often. But he really likes it. He said he enjoys Disney Infinity more than the others. My daughter, 8 years old, isn't really into video games but she will play this with her Dad and has gotten good, better than me. One thing my husband really enjoys is buying the different characters. I started him off with a couple of extra ones but since Christmas has gotten a whole lot more. He also likes putting them out if the display cases. Good purchase for us.

I can relate. I wasn't that crazy about buying Infinity after getting Epic Mickey 2 last year which just collected dust. We gave Infinity to the kids for Christmas though and its been a pretty big hit so far. They love to build things in Minecraft and the Toy Box is kinda sorta like MC creative mode on Disney flavored steroids. Its a fun family game, but I would love to see more development around the playsets and campaigns personally. Some nights I wait for them to go to bed so I can finish POTC. It's not terribly challenging but some of the missions are fun (pirate ship battles ). Collecting the characters and playing them in the adventures is more fun than I anticipated and they have enough IP to milk that for a long time. I would think a marvel or star wars expansion would be a big hit.

Exclamation Job Listing Suggests Date And Platforms for 'Disney Infinity 2'

http://www.forbes.com/sites/andyrobe...-xbox-one-ps4/

Youtube Video: http://youtu.be/H_soUJXba0g

Quote:

An Avalanche Software job listing suggest that Disney Infinity 2 will release this year on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and Wii U but not on Wii.

As we approach the time of year when new toy-video-game cross overs are traditionally announced it’s not surprise to find the internet full of rumors of Skylanders 4 and Disney Infinity 2. But today I stumbled across a forum post that was more fact than fiction.

A job listing for a temporary Game Tester position at Disney Infinity developer Avalanche Software seems to leak some information about the follow up game.

Firstly the post lasts around 4-5 months which would suggest a crunch time leading into the third quarter of 2014. This could indicate a release date for Disney Infinity 2 around August, similar to last year.

Secondly the listing only includes Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Wii U, which forum posters are taking for a sign that there will be no Wii version of the game. This has some credence after a cut down experience in the Wii (that led to some confusion over which version had which features for families).

However there is also no 3DS or Vita technology in the job listing which may simply mean that the development and testing of non-next-generation is simply being handled by another part of the development team.

We should also note that this release looks like it will bring Disney Infinity on Xbox One and PS4. This will be the first time we have seen the play sets and toy boxes of Disney’s world with the high spec visuals and interactions of Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It will be interesting to see how the new Kinect controller is used in the game.

Perhaps more interesting for outsiders on the Disney Infinity collecting craze is to see that this suggests that Avalanche Software are handling another big release for Disney Interactive just a year after the monumental effort of shipping the first Disney Infinity game. Whether this is sustainable over the long term or whether, like Activision, Disney will need to move to a tag-team approach to their yearly releases of the game only time will tell.

Although other details are not at this stage forthcoming (a name or theme for Disney Infinity 2, whether the old figures will be compatible with the new game or indeed whether the old Play Sets will work if you only purchase the second game) it is likely we will hear more from Disney on this very soon.

Do you have to do it using Xbox Live or can you get them through a PC?
