Looking for the best children's entertainment centers

The hubby and I would like to go out for a few hours without the kids, ages 12 and 9. Wondering what children's entertainment center would be best for them. We're staying at one of the resorts on the monorail loop, so hoping to find one near. I understand Animal Kingdom Lodge has a good one, but that's a little far away. Has anyone used them for older kids? If so, would ou recommend it?

We've sent our son to the kids club at GF and WL. The one at GF is *tiny*. He had a good time, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it unless you were staying at GF. The kids club at WL was great. Very spacious, lots to do, and I would think even older kids would enjoy it. Though we haven't tried it, I've heard the Poly kids club is similar.

I *think* the one at GF is closed. My kids have gone to the ones at WL and BC and loved both of them.

I think we will try the Poly one next!

Yep, the GF kid's club is closed.

Mine LOVED The Neverland Club at the Poly. They still say it was the best part of our 9 day vacation

We've done both Neverland Club and Simba's Cubhouse, and our kiddo loved them both.

WE have done the ones at AKL and the Poly! The kids LOVED them! They were actually mad when we came a little early to get them from the Poly Club.

Is the never land club still open? I thought it was being closed soon. We haven't used any of these places yet but he loved the kids club on the disney ships so we may in the near future. I am thinking we will do Jiko and use akl kids club. I would feel best being right there. Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

My son loves the Sandcastle Club, Cubs Den and Neverland club. I just tried to make arrangements for May 2014 and the CM was unable to pull up any Neverland times. I wonder if it's being refurbed? I hope it doesn't go away!

It's scheduled for s refurb Jan-March. Maybe they're not taking reservations until they know when it will be fully completed.

The children's activity centers are located at AKL, Poly, BC, WL and the Dolphin. My son did Poly last August and he enjoyed it. The Dolphin one has a good reputation and I believe you get a discount or a few hours free if you eat at a Swan/Dolphin restaurant or go to the Mandara Spa at Dolphin and show them your receipt.

Another option - the kids-only Pirate Adventure Cruises at GF, CBR, YC/BC and POR. They are for children 4 - 12 and are held from 9:30 - 11:30 am on varying days depending on location. My son LOVES these (more than the activity centers). We have done the YC and the GF ones. My son preferred the YC one as they actually took the children into EP to look for treasure. They also give them a snack and a ton of pirate stuff at the end. I think the cost was about $35. On the days he went I was able to get a massage at Mandara Spa and a pedicure at the GF spa! We BOTH had a great time!

That sounds really great! I'll have to ask my DS if he would like to try that.
