Did the new ADR cancellation policy start?

I have been rearranging some ADR's for our jan trip and today I had to confirm my credit card for our Rainforest Cafe ADR. Did the new cancellation policy kick in today? Am I missing something? Haven't messed with any other ADR's today.

It was to begin on the 19th. Yesterday, I changed a time for The Wave and had to confirm the new time with my CC on file

Yes. I booked a couple of ADRs yesterday for restaurants that previously had no penalty and had to give my CC info.

I have adrs for a January trip made ages ago long before the change in policy. MDE now shows those as credit card guarantee even tho I never gave them my credit card info........

If you never gave them your CC information, you have nothing to worry about. It's probably how their software for ADRs is set up. They can't place a charge onto a card that is not in their system.

Yeah, I'm not concerned about it actually charging me. I figured it was just blanket code they loaded. I'm sure it will cause some people to panic. All cc guarantee now anyway so we had all better get used to the concept.

but if the ADR are linked in MDE and I have a CC due to online checkin, isn't there a CC on file even though I didnt "officially give it when I made the reservation 180 days ago????

It wouldn't be attached to your ADR if you had made your ADR before the 19th.

Now, when making the ADR, you have to confirm when it gets to the CC guarantee page. It does show the CC that is on file but it has to be agreed upon and then confirmed.

When I made my dining reservations last month, I only had to give my credit card for the Brown Derby. I checked online today, and ALL my reservations show a credit card guarantee. Will they use the credit card that I gave them for the Brown Derby for my other 10 reservations???

No, they can't because you didn't confirm those reservations with a CC guarantee.

Disney can only charge against your CC if you agreed and confirmed the card usage...and you did not do that for the other reservations.
